It blew a lot of white residue during engraving, but turned out pretty well. Here's the result. I ran it at 100% speed 18% power on a Chinese 60w laser.
Does anyone know if Eastman Tritan engraves well? It says bpa-free and impact resistant and I found that it is a copolyester by googling. I have someone who asked if I could engrave on glasses made...
That could work! :D

This is true! I just did my first show this past weekend and it was the booths selling $1 items that did well. The booth next to me sold out of $1 items. And a few of the food vendors sold out both...
With shipping the tube is around $400 on ebay, so that's half price. I am concerned this tube won't last... is this anything we can cover or coat that area with to strengthen or seal it?
Aha, found it! :D
DPI = Scangap
1200 = 0.02116
800 = 0.03175
600 = 0.04233
500 = 0.05080
400 = 0.06350
300 = 0.0846
200 = 0.12700
Did you mean 100% speed is 1000? On our 9060 (similar machine but ours is not made by Rabbit) the max speed is 400 and max power is 100. We also use LaserCut and CorelDraw. We get good results...
Well, they will replace it... for $200. Not sure what to do. They claim that if it was a crack the tube wouldn't fire at all. :confused:
This is what we're using; is this considered high-voltage tape?
"Scotch™ Brand 70 Silicone Rubber Electrical Tape is a high-temperature arc and
track-resistant tape composed of self-fusing,...
Thanks for the advice. We went to Lowes and got some latex tubing that is working well (very flexible!) This might be the same thing you'd get from medical supply, the employee at Lowes told us it...
Thanks for the advice. The seller guaranteed it to arrive unbroken, so I'm hoping they will replace it.
Yes you can feel it. It's either a scratch or the tube has cracked. If it is a crack would the tube still work?
We ordered a new 60w laser tube from China; got it last week and noticed right away a small line (scratch or crack) in the outside glass, halfway under one of the stickers. I emailed the seller, sent...
Thanks Dan. I think we're all set to install it tonight. :)
Thanks Dan. :) I realize I have to solder the wire to the post, my question is, is it normal to have the extra wire going to the water jacket? I only ask because the old tube didn't have this. Does...
Replacing a 60w chinese laser tube. I got the new delivered and ready to swap them out, but have a few questions:
1. is this typical?
There is a slight difference on the output end; In the 1st...
Looks like we'll be buying a new tube, and debating a new power supply too (what do you all think?)
Here's a video taken tonight of the tube in the dark. This is showing the output end of the...
OK... We may be on to something! I'm learning everyday! Lets say that is the problem.. is there any way it can be fixed?
Hey! When you are you saying that the "internal mirrors" may be out of alignment, are you actually saying that there are MIRRORS in the LASER TUBE ITSELF? If so then you may be right. Being the...
Yes, it is. But the laser should be putting out around 60 Watts of power. At 30-40% the output is enough to burn a hole in paper in a second. The higher the percentage of the power, the more the...
Ok Guys... Let me Clarify... When I said:
"At 30% the light is bright and will burn a hole through a tissue at the end of the laser tube. At 90% the purple light is VERY bright but will not ...
I got some advice on how to check input voltage from the computer at the power supply and that checks out OK. Try this on for size... visibly looking at the laser tube with power at 10% the purple...
Well, it looks like it is putting out the power, but whether it's getting to the tube or not I don't know. I hooked up a simple electricity meter to see if there is more power at higher power...
Only from the software; won't do anything without the software running. It uses a Leetro MPC03 PCI controller card and Lasercut software.
