It's only for a few small wooden pieces I'll be doing every so often. The rest I'll run with my bofa. It's legal to burn wood isn't it, is there a difference when lasering it?

Hello. I have a trotec rayjet and a bofa ad350 extractor. I have done some wood work using the extractor but it is clogging the filters far too quickly for it to be economically viable. So I am...
Thanks alot for your help
Thanks. The hose is only 3mm outside diameter so I can't go any thicker. Is it definitely flexible enough as this is the hose that connects where it's actually lasering so it moves about alot.
thanks for all your help

I have a trotec rayjet. The 3mm od air assist hose has snapped. They don't reopen from Christmas yet and I'm in need of some rather urgently. Does anyone know where I can get some in the UK? ...
I was going to go with hpc for the poplar unless anyone has a better recommendation?
I have recently tried cutting laser poplar ply and it was great. Really clean easy cut, however the laser Birch ply comes in a bit cheaper and already precut to the sizes I need to fit my engraver....
Ah OK Thanks. I do quite well with the ply, but do you know how much a new filter is? I've really gotta weigh up if it's worth it in the long run
Cheers Dan. Have you tried 6mm ply? I've been giving some some a go today and it seems to be but don't know how much it will hammer my filter.
Thanks for all your help. So can you recommend a thin 5-6mm clean burning wood that cuts easily? Poplar plywood?
Thanks for your help Dan. So what stuff should I avoid engraving? Any particular woods etc? I take it the pine stripwood I am using is still a no go? Shouldn't the extractor tell me when the...

i have a trotec rayjet. The filter has an attachment to connect a pipe to vent it externally. Is it safe for me to cut wood inside if i vent this out the window? i am...
it says it includes a chemical/gas filter
The standard chemical filter contains a multi purpose media to give
protection against the large range of VOC’s (volatile organic
compounds) generated...
But if I pass the smoke through my HEPA AD350 and vent tge filters exhaust outside surely this won't smoke much? I stupidly have cut a few pieces Inside with no visible smoke coming from the exhaust
Excuse my ignorance but what is a blower
I have the HEPA AD350
There is only me and person upstairs. So is it safe if I vent the filters exhaust Out of the window? It's only 5mm wood be cutting so there isn't going to be any noticeable smoke etc so can't see...
No one even mentioned this to me when I bought it. I thought this filter was all I needed... Very worried now as I've been doing this for two years in my home.
Can I get a pipe that will go...
Anything? As in wood or absolutely anything? I cut gravograph plastic, can I not even do that? Can I get a charcoal filter for my hepa unit?
I have my laser set up in my house. I'm after some 5-6mm wood that cuts easily and won't be harmful to my health using my hepa filter. Have been looking at balsa. Would this be suitable? Also...
How would balsa or alder wood work? Is that safe for cutting in my home and fairly easy to cut?
Yes I'm in the UK. Ok ill stop engraving the pine then. What wood approx 6mm can I cut safely in my home with my extractor? That is also paint able preferably
Hi all. I have my laser engraver set up in my flat. I have just started making a few. Bits with pine stripwood from Bnq. I have a hepa extractor but it is really stinging eyes and causing me to...
Ok great. For now ill try the acrylic paint that comes in the tubes as I know a shop near me does that. How deep should I be engraving?
