I am in the process of moving my shop, and today I moved a bunch of parallel clamps. I don't have a rack yet, so I was standing them against the wall, and it hit me that when the clamps are closed,...
Thanks for the advice... but mine do not appear to be 120mm... which is 4.7 inches, roughly. Here are some pictures of what I have.

I'm attempting to hook 4" dust collection tubing to a Mini Max FS-41 Elite. This machine is about 10 years old. I found a thread here where folks were talking about 120mm dust ports, but that's not...
Bingo! That's the answer for my specific situation. I like the fact that it seals airtight and yet remains removeable. Thanks to everyone on all the suggestions!

I've got a 4" PVC pipe coming through my concrete floor and it's relatively flush with the floor. I'd like to find something to cap it that is not a trip hazard. A traditional PVC cap would stick...
I remember as a kid at my Dad's service station the air hose had that standard ball fitting and we had a blow gun that attached over it. I wish I had one of those. They were simple and worked well.
Bingo. In my case I have places where water occasionally washes across my driveway in torrents. Always leaves a ditch. These are the places in which I'm considering concrete with drain pipes......
That is an excellent idea... combined with some small drainage culverts underneath. I had thought of the culverts, but those wash-prone areas in concrete would be money well spent. Thanks!
Thanks to everyone for some really invaluable insight. I will find out in the next couple of weeks what my final quote looks like and will post the outcome of my decision. Again, thanks!
My new shop is 1900 ft off the main road. I currently have the driveway done with white gravel. They are dusty beyond belief in the summer months. My truck looks too much like a sugar donut. ...
Everyone... I have almost finished construction on a new 30x40 shop.
Concrete floors, OSB walls that will be painted white. The ceiling will be white and is 12' high.
I have 12 receptacles in...
I wish I had the vision to imagine something like that. That in itself would be fine. Actually drilling that? I think I broke my drill bit and possibly my wrist just watching it! :-)

There are some posts on SMC about corded drills, but the question of finding a compact CORDED drill hasn't come up in a while that I can see.
I'm tired of the infrequent use pattern (mine) that...
Question... Did you change out the handle that lowers the table? I'm just curious because I was considering building one, and it hit me that on my Delta, the crank handle would hit the table.
Hi, all...
I recently received a new Domino 500. I was hoping to use the pin stops on the horizontal positioners to make a series of mortises on 3-1/2" centers. I find that 100mm is the most...
Can you just cut the hose at the fitting?
I have a Jet OSS, but about 90% of the time, I use a shop-built spindle with rolled-on sandpaper attached and mounted in my lathe. This gives any spindle length or diameter I want. Yeah, the dust...
I was just telling my wife the other day, "I'm tired of products that say, "built by <fill in the blank> FOR <fill in the blank>". And then this posts... "built by carpenters FOR carpenters." How...
I am considering undertaking a home remodeling job (mine) where I'll be constructing some cabinets for my kitchen. I'm just wondering if anyone has any thoughts or comparisons between face frame...
Ha! I can imagine it was quite elaborate. I didn't see that one, however. I am surprised there's not more demand for stuff like this, however. Especially those of us who can make custom...
My wife has a large amount of jewelry, as I'm sure all woodworker's spouses do, right? ;)
I would really like to know if anyone has seen any cool plans for woodworking projects that offer EASY...
There's a good article on each over at toolsnob dot com. The Fein still comes out on top -- even given its higher price.
Where in any of this does he sound any different than anyone who's enthusiastic about a product? You think he's a salesman even though he clearly says he doesn't know whether the products are...
