Hi all,
I've never posted on this forum before because I have absolutely no equipment for turning. However,I've been reading a watching about it and it is very intriguing. (Like all other aspects...
Has anyone every tried Zinnser's (sp?) Bull's Eye French Polish? If so, what were the results? How easy is it to use?
I've not posted in a while so this is a re-acquaintance effort. But as long as I'm saying "hello, again", why not ask a question, too? I'm still a novice and lately have been looking at my...
Sorry to be a pest guys, but one more question for the finishing gurus out there. Is tung oil (not the pure stuff, the Formby's stuff) considered a topcoat?
When you find it, tell me. I want one, too! :D
Not enough because there are only 24 hours in a day! :D
Oh, man. Your telling my life story here. I'm in the same boat but with four boys, age 5,3,2 and six weeks. (What's causin' all these kids?) Anyway, my shop time story is the same, except now they...
This is a newbie question so please bear with me. I'm getting ready to do a project and finish with shellac. I've never used shellac before so I was wondering if there was difference between mixing...
It's a big help, Clyde. Thanks for the feedback!
Does anyone have the Ryobi AP1300 Planer. I've read some good reviews on it from people who actually own it and use it moderately (like I would). My question is its durability. Will it hold up? I'm...
I'm with Gord. A splitter with kickback cawls is the bare minimum for safety. I've got a TS with the standard plastic blade gaurd. I keep it on although it's kind of a pain. What really makes me...
I had the PC333 and enjoyed it until it konked out in less than a year. I was probably to rough with it or applied too much pressure too often. I'm not sure. Anyway, I switched to the Ridgid 5"...
Larry,
Never used the festool, but have heard only good things. I do have the Bosch and it is a very good tool for the money.
Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope your new year brings you all good health and happiness!
Nice, Kev! What kind of wood? Glad to see your still after it!
Hey! You stole my workbench! Can't trust you Louisiana guys. :D
Welcome aboard, John. You've got some great work!
I've got the Ridgid. Well-priced and does a good job of cleanup without a ton of maintenance. Doesn't compare with Festool in performance, of course. But, then again, it doesn't compare with...
Hi all! I've not logged on in some time and happy to see alot of new faces. Been very busy with work and family (new baby boy arrived last Friday :D ).
Anyway, to the safety question. I'm...
Real nice, Steve. How much shop time did it take?
Nice, Lee. You really did a great job on the finish, too. I use quite a bit of clear pine and it can be difficult to avoid blotching, especially on a piece that size.
Nice Work! I'm with John, one day I'm gonna get a SS. One day.....
That's good stuff, Cecil!
Frank,
It's really coming out well! This shingles really do give the place a nice look. Can't wait to see the finished product!
