I was cutting some 1/4" dado's for drawer bottoms in red oak this afternoon on my router table. Halfway through the second side piece the resistance stops and I hear some chatering. I shut things...
Angle grinder and 4" dry diamond blade. Or circular saw and a 6" or so dry diamond blade. Smaller blade is easier to manage with small cuts, circular saw make s a better straight line.
Wear...
I used to, then this weekend I threw some 1/4 melamine ontop of my 2'x3' wood scrap bin thats on casters and used it as an assembly table and outfeed table.
Soooo, now I am building a 56"x36" or...
Any miter track or t-track for feather boards??
Be carefull gluing up to keep the two board flat and paralel. If the glue isnt perfect between the two surfaces is will creat a ridge or bow, and if they sag while gluing it will warp the entire...
I used a series of die and gel stain to get poplar to my liking. Very dark brown but with the grain still visible. I am going to try a lighter die as that is where most of the color came from, I...
Stop block to guide the plunge down then remove it and start cutting. Have to use a plungable bit. Or it its a through cut at one end then uuse the stop block to end the cut and turn off before...
To get the angles right and the filler piece right, take 2 pieces of scrap, back cut at 45* , then use another piece of scrap, hold perpendicular to the corner and slide the 2 side pieces up to it...
Thanks again for the help. I am starting a number of projects and will be mostly doing rabeting, mortises, profiling, etc with the router table.
I have seen tennons made with spiral bits that...
Thank you for the help. This is great info.
Would it work the same as a 2-3 flute standard bit for rabiting and what not? Or is it a waste of a bit to use it for that.
I plan to only use one...
Kind of basic I'm sure but besides plunge cutting mortises and what not. When should I use spiral router bits?
On MLCS their videos show using them for multiple cuts.
Anyway, I want to make...
I enjoyed the drum table episode.
He is truley an artist at heart, and simply expresses through wood, which is a beautiful medium, and quite functional.
Just add corbels. I had a 20' counter top in my office built from 3/4" particle board laminate with corbels every 24" or so and it was very solid. No problem supporting a few hundred punds, and it...
I picked up a new Freud 80t thin kerf finish/plywood/laminate blade for $31 and $8 for shipping.
Great blade and half price from most other places online.
So after much experimenting this is what Ive come up with. The grain is a little more visable than the picture reveils.

Depending on your taste, you can make a plywood center with molding and what not look very nice. This alleviates a lot of headaches involved in making your own raised panels.
I would hang the lowers because sometimes I like to hose out the garage and mop it, that way it doesnt do any damage to the cabinets.
You can buff it out iwth a medium cut polish. This will buff the scratches but not make it glossy. Depends on how many coats you got as you donwant to burn through the varnish.
If it can tow a semi it can attach a router top.....
I am just doing a sub top flush with the cabinet then screwing threw that into the finished top I made.
Is it possible to use a gel stain as a glaze?
I have been playing with some gel stain on cherry mouldings that I have. And I can get it to fill some of the profiles to give a slightly glazed...
hole punch the masking tape? Those are about a 1/4".
Harbor Freight used to have 2' sections for $3.99 I bought a bunch of it a few months ago, doesn't look like they have on their site now though.
Cheap bits dull real fast. But if you take small light passes they will last longer, it is just a pain to keep adjusting the depth.
I totally agree. I do not want to use a nice wood, even alder...
I made the test frame out of poplar, 2 1x4 laminated together at a 3/8" offset, riped a large cove with the table saw and it...
