I understand your logic, Warren, but that's no different then feeding in 3/4" wood, vs 8/4.
That's why the feed rollers have springs on them.
And these feed rollers are over an inch away from...
Not too sure about "slow", as I'm cutting 5 boards at once, at 16ft/min.
"...drop the infeed and outfeed rollers lower."
ok, ok, I'll look closer then. I just thot those rollers had a fixed location.....but I'll look closer....
The height of the rollers is adjustable? Are you sure? I understand the pressure is, but the height?
And, yes, a table saw does this simple enough, but I need to cut thousands of 2" wide strips at...
Well, yes, Rod. That's the standard bed-board that comes on all of the Woodmaster.
The gang blades easily hit that board, well before the feed rollers reach a 3/4" piece of stock that I'll be...
So, I decided to try some gang ripping on my 718 Woodmaster.
I watched this vid: https://youtu.be/dZKQQqPfrAo?si=eNJpIJ6uZHXmSRC9
This video does NOT show a bed board, to raise the bed, and to...
i do work with a lot of curly and quilted stock. 10K BF/year...at least.
Small S4S? Do they make those? Every one I've seen, are monsters.
Wow...this could be my solution, Robert....
I wonder if I can swap the outfeed rollers, for something rubber....
I'm not familiar with Baileigh brand. Anyone else know of them?
Thanks for the reply, Patrick. I'm currently using a Woodmaster 15" with spiral head. And, I have two 15" Grizzly widebelts. I'm getting a 30" dual drumsander, tomorrow.
Really appreciate the...
Clearly that would have a digital read out, yes?
lol
Mainly because I wanted to stay with a new machine, and not used.
But, perhaps I need to adjust my thinking.
So, not being familiar with the used planer market, where do I search for something like...
I see. Well, 1/4" would be fine, actually. I can sand my stock down to 1/8", just fine.
I looked into this more, Larry, and I'm finding it for roughly $15,100. Adding a Phase Perfect (15HP 230V Digital Phase Converter) is another $5,200.
So, we're starting to get well above the Laguna...
I was considering Laguna's PX22 at 7.5 horse, single phase. Even has the segmented infeed roller, and digital read out.
At $8,200 I'd save a lot of money.
I wonder how much differnece i'd...
Very nice machine, Larry. I think the Tersa head would be fine too, and I love the quick change...but that 3phase requirement, is kind of a show stopper.
Richard, it it single phase? Does it have electronic table positioning? Can it plane down to 1/8"....or 1/4"
Bill, do you really think I'll notice the difference?
Brian, that's 3phase. I'm set up for single phase.
Hey gang....
Right now I've got a Woodmaster planer, with a 7.5" motor and spiral head.
I'm considering a serious upgrade, now that end of year says I can afford it.
I'm looking at the Laguna P25...
Say....
Anyone have a clue as to what size RPC that Grizzly may sell, it would take to run this bad boy?
https://www.ebay.com/itm/234671604954
And, when using an RPC, does that mean I don't need...
At $5-$6K for an RPC, plus $100 a month when not even in use?......I think that's money I can instead put into an HR120....if I can find one.... Thanks for the info, tho, Lou.

Yes, I'm going horizontal. Maybe I'll start another thread on all the reasons I prefer horizontal over vertical.
I'm still striking out on finding a single phase horizontal resaw, so if anyone sees one online, or locally, please let me know. You guys have given me a couple good leads up here lately, but...
I did, and they told me that the nearest 3 phase power source to me, was about 2 miles away, and to run that to my shop would cost roughly $30K.
