Yes, construction lumber is generally very wet from the store. You could sticker it all in a cli,ate controlled area for 6-12 months and then build after jointing and planing flat

#1, it should sound like it is working hard :).
#2, you say the board gets 'stuck', does it blow the breaker? If not then clean your rubber rollers with alcohol to increase the traction ;)
Looks fair if that is where your budget is. I'd ask for some pics of the top before I drove an hour but the ones that are there looks like it is in good shape. How old? Probably somewhere between 5 &...
Just be carefull with small and thin offcuts. They tend to fall back against the blade and if you lift with it still running the teeth can grab those thin offcuts and throw em pretty energetically.
An out of square fence has nothing to do with burning, it just makes an out of square cut. Now if the blade is heeling, that will make a difference. Heeling is when the blade is not exactly parallel...
Sounds about right for a 2hp collector, they are all loud.
Don't see why you couldn't branch the main to side by side cyclones operating together. Expecting a 2hp collector to do anything with 5 gates open is insane ;)
Grizzly carries up to 7". http://www.grizzly.com/search?q=(nordfab)+AND+(category:%22Floor+Sweeps%22)
Nordfab lists 8" and even larger. The 'box' that sits on the floor is the same size no matter...
Yeah, my 2hp Grizzly is in a closet built around it with batts of fibreglass to absorb some of the sound, it is tolerable. Some of these noise specs are hard to believe unless the meter is set up 50...
Maple box store plywood + poplar face frame and pine crown. HVLP sprayed latex primer and topcoat.
A big box pine "2*12" is about a dollar a board foot if you figure it out. I just returned from a lumber run, paid $1.95 a bf for 4/4 $2.25 for 5/4 and $2.50 for 6/4. Not dirt cheap but particularly...
Nearing completion:)
I happened to be tinkering in my shop today with one of those $40 digital anemometer things that can measure CFM's. My cyclone is a Grizzly 2hp 440, 6" main of Nordfab type ductwork. The griz is...
Fwiw, I'm quite happy with my 6 or so year old G440 2Hp cyclone. Happy enough I just spent some sig. cash upgrading to the Nordfad clamp together ducting.
Can you lift a 55 gallon drum full of chips? Mine is 35 gallons, wouldn't want it any larger...
On the to the table :)
After painting the remaining parts on Saturday it was not hot enough to fully harden off the two part epoxy @ 60 degrees so I set the parts in the autoclave for 3 or 4...
Final series of pieces needing paint. Citristrip works pretty well softening up most of the paint such that 80-90% of it comes off with a scrubby sponge. then a wire wheel or flap sander does the...
Nice!
I picked up a fresh badge from Ebay to replace the one that was on it which was a little different style. Had to drill for new drive screws.
Various motor shots which is ready for the...
Post some pics of the 790 when you get a chance Cary.
Yep (sick puppy comment), I wasn't supposed to have three. I like having two so one can be set for dado's on a project while the other does cross cuts. The motor on my MBF had burned out so the plan...
LOL, this is actually my third. Don't need anymore:)
There are a handful of other parts that still need painting or prep and painting. Then a new table of course, matbe another 2 or 3 weeks.
Every nut and bolt gets cleaned and de-rusted along the way. Paint is 2 part epoxy.
I like old radial arm saws :). I've got a 1511 I restored about 6 years ago, recently came across a rusty model 1200 from 1962 which was screaming for attention so I am in the process of a total tear...
That sounds better!
If it wasn't for that section with only a 1/2" sticking out and it was me, I'd probably have just made it work by going over instead of in. But with it under size and too short...
Yes, well - the OP asked the question 6 years ago <g>.
