You can probably get the motor rewound/rebuilt.
May or may not be cost effective...

The "dime trick" is clearance to allow the waste to clear as it cuts.
I have used gallons of this for many laminated curves and many other glue ups in an array of dimensions primarily for external non structural applications.
And it's waterproof....

You really have to consider what your use will be.
I use an 18v 61/2" Makita extensively for 2x framing work and general construction.
Limitations are that it only cuts just over 2".It's brushless...
Watch the level of suction,it can lead to excessive sanding marks.
Less so with abranet.
Festool has adjustment for suction level,not sure about the others.

The issue with the tyres threw me out as the manual said to always track the teeth off the front edge,other info said euro saws always have level tyres.
