"We used 80% power and 100% speed on our Epliog 35W laser"...
My friend recently bought a laser which is good for me because it means that I can now use one more often. She is an artist and will be using it for various art related projects, so there will be a...
Runs on stepper motors, so does the 16.
What is different:
- Radiance Optics (better beam quality, i think the helix has this as well)
- Larger Bed Size/z-axis (24" x 12+" x 7.5")
- Higher...
New Epilog Zing, the Zing 24:
@Rodne: Im not looking to purchase one. I just think there is a lack of input on these systems and it would be great to see everyones thoughts on them.
@Paul: I really like the estimated time...
And probably the fact that these are meant for a more "consumer" market. They dont go to forums for help, they go back to the people they bought it from; most people here work off eachothers...
There seems to be a huuge lack of actual user comments on these machines (with possibly the exception of the Versalaser). All I can find is the official site with specs and some shady videos.

It seems that there are all of these new smaller desktop laser systems that are slowly becoming available. They are smaller, look more consumer friendly and they have a simpler driver. What do you...
The driver is different and no, you cannot use the Speedy 300 driver on the Rayjet and visa versa. But the Rayjet driver does seem pretty good, although I didnt have a good chance to test it out.
...
Im going down to Trotec HQ here in Australia and will be checking out the Rayjet. I will post more afterwards.
Is there anything you want to know about it?
According to Scott S. Advancedartist.com is very good, only $79 for 30 hours. Im considering it now.
Check out his comments:

Im really asking, who are the different companies that make them?
Lets say for:
- GCC C180
- ULS 2.30/3.50
- Epilog Mini/Zing/Helix
- Gravograph LS100
- Trotec Rayjet/Speedy 100
The...
What air extraction systems are there available? That is so that you can use a laser indoors in a place that does not have access to the outside.
Why would Epilog and ULS (Versalaser) have a booth at CES?
Is it to gain distributors, or go directly to the public or what? Or is it just to get people interested in their lasers?
I think it is fine. The only problems I can think of are:
1. Sound - if its on while you are trying to sleep (when your husband decides he wants to pull a late/all-nighter)
2. Smell?? I like the...
Anyone got any thoughts on the Laserpro C180? I have looked around, but there are no comments or reviews on this system.
I know Robert Ray bought one a little while ago. Robert, what do you think...
I dont have a laser to test this, but looky what I found :)
Anyone got any for the ls100 or the ls900??
just looking for the simple print drivers for use with corel etc.
Its USB (connected to a mac w/ windows on it). Right now im just looking for the drivers.
If I was buying new I would look at Epilog, ULS and Trotec, but this one is second hand and potentially...
20,000 x 12 mins = 4000 hours
4000 / 365 days in a year = 11 hours a day
2 pcs at a time: 5.5 hours a day
4 pcs at a time: 3 hours a day
10 pcs at a time: 1 hour a day
Now unless you plan to...
Yeah, I agree. But I am planning to work with this company who already has the laser, but cannot use it with the proprietary software....All im looking for now is the Generic Printer Drivers for the...
Spoke to the gravograph lady again, turns out that you DONT need the dongle unless you are using their proprietary software, but she said that they dont supply print drivers (even though on their...
Well, I was speaking to someone about purchasing their laser engraver. A gravograph ls900. Turns out they are missing the dongle which according to gravograph costs $5.3k to replace....for a...
To put it short, Im not going to buy a $20k laser, nor a $15k laser. So what does that leave, a Chinese laser or a heavily discounted of the other brands.
Just for comparison, the Zing is $8k in...
Well lets get basck onto the topic of the lasers themselves and answer the laser questions =)
Ive looked at getting an RF tube. they essentially double the cost. Making it around US$7k. Now I have...
