All good suggestions, thanks very much. I hadn't thought about building the trim up from the cabinet. There is reveal all the way around the top, 1" on either side, 3/4" on the rear, and 1 3/4" on...

Thank you Jim, I mounted the top with silicone and it is definitely solid mount. Wasn't sure if the bond for the wood trim would work well. The trim is finished with poly urethane.
I recently built a BBQ cabinet for our deck. The cabinet is Tigerwood w a granite top. Only the front edge of the top is finished and polished. I am making trim to wrap the sides and back of the...
Thanks again for the help. I purchased the TW from Advantage through the website tigerwooddecking.com; very pleased with the transaction and follow up from Advantage by the way. I have no idea what...
Thanks Chris,
The Ipe on the deck is limited to 4X4 rail posts and upright posts on the covered portion of the deck and the 2X3 lower and upper railing. The rail then has a 5/4 x 3 Tigerwood top...
I rebuilt and added on to our old back porch/deck a few months ago. The deck is 5/4 x 6 Tigerwood with Ipe railing and a 2 x 6 Tigerwood cap on the top rail. I used "Ipe Oil" on the deck and...
Buy the saw. Go to the OWWM.org site and you'll find lots of advice and help in the restoration but it doesn't look like there is a lot of restoration to do from the pics. Pictures can be...
The Osborne EB3 is $109 + shipping now on their website.
Those are very cool. They use them on high dollar yachts for space savings.
I do hope that was an April Fool's joke.
Many years ago, when I was in high school. I worked in a machine shop where among other things, they made racing go karts. They had a lathe that they...
There's a huge difference between a picture tube and the starter cap on your saw. The TV tube will hold a far greater charge for a longer time than the saw. Still, you could get a little zap from...
You can probably get a set of PM rails for about $100 on that auction site. That's what I did when refurbing my PM66. Actually bought a set of 30" rails and later got a set of 50". It was about...
Mineral Spirits...the mother's milk of woodworking :D
Are you completely stripping the saw and repainting everything?
I rebuilt a PM66 not too long ago. I did mine all by hand using a heavy stripper, did a great job, but that takes a lot of time. ...
That's major suckage for sure. Congrats, I think that might be the nicest looking snowflake before a restore that I've seen.
You definitely suck. :D
That's how I run my ZCI's. I make 99% of my cuts on the right side of the blade. If your arbor is set correctly in distance from the miter (actually more to do with the axis of the trunnion) you...
That is an interesting project saw. Definitely has some pluses going for it in the miter gage and original switch. The table doesn't look too bad and it has 2 extensions on it, but that is hard to...
It's a 1984 model saw. $700 isn't bottom feeder price but maybe not totally out of line depending on condition I would think. You did not mention table extensions, arbor wrench, miter gage, dust...
I installed a router table extension on my TS3650 with a M12V Router in it and a Woodpecker Unilift and never had any issues with sagging of the rails or table. I removed the right end CI extension...
I would go with the PM, just because. You'll learn a lot doing the restoration and it shouldn't be very expensive unless there is a major part broken. As for 3 phase. I would look at the nameplate...
Thanks for the compliment. It was a lot of fun and a very good learning experience.
I was wondering about the bottom machining too. I've never heard of anyone doing that. There are a couple of...
That really isn't a terrible deal (2 sets of rails, new fence, fresh ground tables, and 1 extension (you didn't specify which and what kind of extension). The CI extension is about $400+.
It does...
Not a bad deal I would say. You will need to deal with the 3 phase but that should not be a show stopper. Replacing the arbor bearings is a snap on that saw, just make sure to take some pictures of...
Lowe's here ran that saw a couple of weeks ago for $250. Nice saw for that price for sure. The stops for crown cutting worked fine for me. I would try the saw for a little bit before I put more...
Broken gear aside, you can have this problem on a PM66 if the arbor isn't in correct horizontal position or the sheave is too far out on the arbor shaft. Not sure on a Delta saw.
