At the very least, we can blame some of the behavior on alcohol in this case
Looking good
I'm once again in the same camp.
My guides will probably never wear out because they hardly ever turn.
If I see one of the bearings start to move, I know I'm putting too much feed pressure on the...
I didn't know it was a "quick-Vise" that makes things different.
I bought my Griz a several years ago, I was surprised at how much the price increased since I got mine. Looks like $75- $100 per year...
I have one like this...
Looks great Robert, it looks like it just sat for 20+ years. I'm sure you got it for a good price, congrats.
The one thing I can say is that the handle on the work-piece clamp would drive me nuts....
Never had a failure and I too have used gallons over the years
What happens more often is that some members with years of experience, point out that there is little need for one tool or gadget, another might tell you not to waste your money where a less...
+1
While I'm always bothered by WP prices, I could certainly see where this would easily pay for itself. It all depends on the type of work you do and your method of layout/measuring.
Was his name Gino Russo?
He once showed me a chalice he made for a trip he was taking to Rome.
I only met him once, 1984 or 85, very nice man.
When you know what saw/blade length you're getting, I would suggest starting with Supercut Blades. They are far less expensive than many of the names you hear people talk about on this and other...
It's a good middle of the road saw, IMO
It's a step up from a cast iron 14" Asian import or Delta clone and not so expensive that it kills your budget.
IME, They claim to take a 1" blade but as...
With all due respect, That's your experience, mine and others are not quite the same.
I have resawn Sapele, 9 1/2" with my Grizzly GO513 and did not have any of the issues you mention. Yes it's a...
Ssssshhhh keep quiet, everything is going smooth, so far
As to fences, I don't really care for any of the extruded aluminum (usually proprietary) fence rails and ONE sided fences found on most...
You just did it
I agree with John TenEyck 100%
Another reason for height/resaw capacity, is when using sleds, jigs and so on.
My sled is 3/4" thick and there are times when I could certainly use that little bit extra.
So when I cut something...
The jaw "flexing" into position, conforming to the work piece, can also blunt or round-over the edges of said piece if leather or cork aren't used.

Personally, I think 2hp is minimum for resawing 12" lumber.
It can be done with less but it would be very slow going, as you're aware.
A saw that handles a 3/4" blade would be "better" for resawing...
You could always go for a combo...
William, I looked quite a bit this morning and couldn't find any information on that topic one way or the other. I was going to suggest that you experiment but you already did.
Glad it worked and...
Thanks a lot, I thought I was looking at the wrong finish at first.
I appreciate it, good info to have.
John, thanks for the info on those finishes.
I don't see where Kem Aqua Plus has a dual UV package, I'm not seeing the "HALS", could you direct me....
