I like the Besseys, the band is huge and can be used for large pieces as well as small frames and boxes. I've clamped up cabinet carcasses with them.
I think most likely it would of been done with a scratch stock of some sort.
You can whip up your own out of a couple scraps of wood and an old card scraper in no time.
Aww, no love for the hand tools? I know I can't do anything without mine...
If I had 6,000 to spend on tooling up, I would definitely spend 1000 on quality chisels, sharpening equipment, and a...
I would either use a router with flush trim bit, or I'd finish it off with a hand-saw. I think I'd lean towards the saw.
I think this is what you're looking for..http://www.bealltool.com/products/threading/threader.php
I think it does act like a true riving knife actually, I saw a picture of it and it looked like it does bolt to the arbor.
Just sell the saw to whoever brings the green. Its not a firearm or anything.
When someone hurts themselves with a tool, it's usually not the tools fault.
Wow that is awesome, I think that's the largest piece I've seen done in Zebrawood. I wish Zebrawood was a little cheaper though, I can't even afford to make a few boxes out of it,and here you are...
Holy Crap, 1/16" Tails! Must be tricky to layout...
That guy that makes those microscopic miniatures, would appreciate this thing. Although the scale is still very large for him....
Here you go. His shop is just a great big warehouse, but it's awesome. His work is the really impressive stuff though.

Pete Micheline has got some skills, and a very impressive shop to boot.
Check out his site, you won't be disappointed.
It's no coincidence that he graduated from the same school as T-Mac, NBSS...
I like having a stand alone router table, this way all my routing equipment/tooling is in one spot.
And you can build the table to suit your own needs, and customize it any way you like.
Also I...
Eh don't worry Chris it's just friendly banter. I've never been to a WW site that did not have the "No pic's, dint happen" policy.
Nobody thinks you're a liar, WW'rs just love to see other peoples...
Ooo nice one, I wish I had room for a hefty outfeed table in my bay shop. I have some good ideas rolling around, hopefully I'll remember them for the day I gain the real estate.
Cool looking shop...
I have that vise and it's a good one. The only thing I dont like is the plastic pop up, instead of a steel one.
Depends on a few things:
1. Is your WH power vented or Direct vent? If so then the same flue is out of the question.
2. If it is a natural draft flue, into a chimney it is most likely sized for the...
I love my Milwaukee tools, by far my favorite manufacturer of cordless tools.
I just bought the new 12v lineup of tools...all of them, including a tubing cutter which is awesome for my job....
Dewalt raised the price of the 735 recently to $650, some places have been slow to catch on though. So if you're in the market for one and see it for the original $499, grab it and run.
This...
Thou shalt flaketh imo.
How much distance is there between them?
How many doors are there between them?
What do you build, is it large?
Do you mind trudging through the elements with your lumber, and then carrying the...
Floyd , any chance you could show me a picture of the design you are describing? I'm having a hard time visualizing it.
I have never built one , but I have always wanted to. An old neighbor of mine when I was a kid was an absolute wizard at crafting these. It's strange given their size, they still have a cozy feel to...
Sounds like a solid plan, but I'm curious why Sch. 80? It seems the added weight and cost are unnecessary.
The only way I could get mine off was to put the body of the drill in my vice wrapped in a towel, and unscrew chuck using an 18" pipe wrench. You have to grab the end of the chuck at the solid ring.
