How would I "glue?" say 1/16" wood to the frosted glass? Or would that veneer with pre-glue back do it? It needs to hold up for years..
We are putting together a memorial board project.
The boards are computer controlled to lite up behind each name plate on the the anniversary of the person's death.
The name plates would 2"x5"...
Thanks for all the comments - I will find the best focus point and make a "block"...
Thanks again!
David
OK, I did it.. I lost the Manual Focus tool.. How do I focus without it? - I assume the only way it to order a new one from Epilog?
Thanks
David
A few more questions:
1) Is it random? - Yes - I can laser the same file (as it lives on the laser) and get the problem to appear in different places...
2) When it happens does it stay that way...
But while it's cutting - it corrects after the stop and go... Thanks - Don't know the terms - but the cuts become "dotted" lines...
Doing papercuts, with vector at 85% speed - 600 or 400 dpi - runs fine - but will go in to "lo-res" cutting if you will - if I "stop" and "go" (just wait a fraction of a second) it corrects its self....
I'm looking for a font that can be used for cutting out of paper. So the center of say the letter "a" stays in tack. I'm not looking to use the letters that are cut out, but the remaining "frame". ...
Would you mind sharing your setup? - how do you hold the paper down? - what weight stock are you using? what are the settings? - what do you have behind the paper - just the grid?
Thanks!
OP In Please
Thanks
I will put some images together and tell you what I did- in the morning

Bill,
I too have not been able to get anything but fair results.
I have searched, and searched - would you mind sharing? -
I assume convert to greyscale, and I have tried flattening (lower...
here it is!

That is one they told me to buy, and I did, and it works!
So I'm at 60 Freq - and run the raster (at 1200 dpi for nice dark images) first, then vector as a second pass...
But I have also solved the dirty faces too...
I first tried Pledge but found...
Alder - prefinished from Laserbits - if I raise the speed, it doesn't cut all the way through.... I'm running at 600dpi. Are you saying run the raster first. Then run the Vector at a lower dpi?
I assume there is nothing I can do with cutting 1/4" wood - 100% power and 5% - getting burnt edges, leave your fingers black..
I'm now using the Masking Material for the face - and it works...
I was ready to buy a Zing - but I correctly was up sold to a Mini 18... Only had the machine a few weeks, and glad I did!
Looking for a cheap source for wood frames - that I could laser - hold 4x6 or 5x7 photo -
unfinished is fine - looking for a light wood that would laser quick and nice contrast.
Need to order...
Can you provide some details? - How did you get the holes so clean on the Acrilic?
Thanks
David
Thanks for all the replies -
I'm using pre-finished wood -
What is transfer paper? - is it just masking tape?
Well, I have just installed our new laser. Loads of fun, what do I clean the wood with after laser engraving?
Thanks!
Looks great! -
Where did you purchase the granite?
Thanks
David
My understanding is that they have (or in the process) of changing the fans - so they turn off. My Mini 18 40w is on order, but I'm not sure if the new fans are on it. I do know the cover is now...
What about the Magnet Backs? Do they work?
