Lee,
its a ca. 1990 Delta Unisaw. 220v. I can't see the motors label. It came out of a school auction, hardly used, "Too dangerous for Middle Schoolers to use". Mostly used by Staff. I like your...
Last week I was ripping some 3"x6" Pine. Halfway though a cut, the motor started pulsating. I was pushing the boards slowly. I've never heard or seen anything like it. I was using a fairly decent...
You're correct. My bad. It's a nicer Band Saw than the piece of poo-poo I had before...
;)
I too have the Rikon 10-345. It's great. It's a bit of a hassle to find 142" blades for it, just do a search for that size, they're out there. It bought it 2 years , or so, ago. Much better than the...
I've been using an old Craftsman "Vee" router bit for countersinking screws. Not a carbide one but a HSS one,
on wood not aluminum. I use it in my drill. I very found it's best to countersink, then...
Can you peel the old pad off and glue on a mouse pad? The bottoms are slightly sticky to keep the mouse pad from moving around...should be perfect for push block grip on a board...
Like George, I too dislike the stile under my kitchen sink.
I'm too big (fat) to able to work under there comfortably.
the next time I need to get under there, out it comes. Then I'll screw it to...
I'd keep the 27520. Just because they look cool.
good review here...

If you glue the 1 1/2" boards in the dado, it'll replace the material you cut out. I'd set a couple of screws into it too.
I've used a sheet of plain paper that I scribbled the whole sheet with a pencil. Use a soft lead like a #2 pencil.
Hi Brian, I sure did. When I first saw it I thought, WTH?
it was easy to figure out. I didn't even remove it.
There are no bearings, bronze bushings. When I took the motor apart, I found wool yarn under the oil filling caps. The bushing are grooved in a way, I assume, to spread the oil about. There is no...

Here's the motor before and after, it runs like a champ. The lathe itself, is done except for some wiring and a belt.
Thank you all for the suggestions an help on what to do with...
Ive been looking for a wood lathe for a while. Yesterday at a yard sale, I found a 1930s era Delta Double Duty. It is in pretty good condition.
I'm in the process of cleaning it up...
a question I...
I planted 2 Ash trees in my back yard a couple of years ago, for much needed shade, here in New Mexico. I sure hope I can get many years out of them. I'd hate to lose the others in the yard.
I've emptied and reused my plastic bag at least a dozen times. It has a few places of packing tape patches. I have a new bag that came with the machine in a cupboard somewhere...
Some day, I'll try...
I used yellow pine decking from Home Depot, the brown stuff, 1"x 6" x 8'.
they've been in the New Mexico sun for 2 years now without any finish. The only thing I had to do was tighten the screws and...
John-No, they don't get in the way and I'm pretty clumsy. The table and the fence rail protrude more than where the wheels are attached. I've never bolted the base to the band saw to the mobile base,...
This is what a buddy of mine and I welded together out of angle iron. There is a piece of 3/4" ply under the saw.
I wanted the wheele to be splayed out a bit as I was worried about the saw being ...
Great score! I'd trade off my old Craftsman if I could find a Classic like that...

This one I made from a Harbor Freight movers dolly. I removed the carpet padding and added a couple of boards to support the jointer.
I've picked up several of their 4 wheeled moving dollies (modified to put under some floor machines), a 2 wheeled hand cart (get one with the solid wheels, the pneumatic tire ones are worthless), my...
On my old table saw, I made extensions from an old kitchen table. It was a dense particle board with a Formica laminate.
it looked pretty good as the pattern of the laminate was "Butcher Block"......
I use these...
