I only have the 180 and love it, on the other side of the grinder is a standard 60 grit if I need to take off a lot of material.
Anyone using Linux to do the Design and Cam?
We have a 4'x8' cnc router in Kre8Now (makerspace) woodshop. Everyone is using Windows, but I only have Linux.
Thanks
Barry,
nice work I saw some similar from a friend in AZ.
Real nice, now just make a lid to fit.
Outstanding work, about how long did it take to complete after turning.
We were in MO riding a four wheeler and came across this Oak Burl. Paul said lets cut that down, don't want it falling across the creek. This was 6 years ago. Here are some of the items I have made....

I have a 5" faceplate with 3 equally spaced 1/4 - 20 threaded holes about 1/2 in from the outer diameter. Then three 1/4" setscrews with a point ground on one end - leave the points extending out of...
Byron,

I do one piece at a time finish complete. So I would say 95 percent.
Just mount the whole thing on the lathe and turn a nice large bowl you could then set it on your dinning room table, no other place to put it and you can not sell it.
I would try to cut the trunk...
Outstanding work!
John;
I know a place to put that and we all could use it. The new MakerSpace KRE8NOW.com in Lexington.
My shop is small 24 x 9 1/2, but it is ok by me if I want to use the table saw it's done in the garage or rolled outside on the driveway.
But for turning it's great. The dust collection is in the...
Very nice JD, to bad I have not seen you at the meetings lately, must be two busy doing all this kind of thing.
Have you thought about getting a tap the same as the threads on the lathe spindle and making a wooden faceplate. I do that and it works great.
Baxter,
I like all the things you do, but this one is great, I better not let my better half see it or she will wnat me to make one.

You will sure be able to turn some nice sphere's, will not even have to make a jig!
Great lathe you will love it, I would love to bring my tools and come to Durango and help you learn to turn! What a great place to live.
