Legal ivory is available on ebay
I bought a bit of Ivory on ebay, essentially scraps, sometimes bigger pieces/slabs. It is pricey but legal.
I did that on 12x12 marble and granite, also did one on Black Cherry 19" dia on my 12x24 epilog. did it in halves and glued them together. Posted pics a few yrs ago, I think they are in my Picture...
Hi Y'all, seems we have a lot of newbies in the last couple years, here's a big welcome to those I haven't met. I enjoy experimenting with different materials, and I have found that Basswood works...
Dell publishing has some nice stuff on cds. I have many photo albums in my Facebook Wall. You are welcome to any pics you want. I've engraved some great stuff from there. My FB name is Ray...
Thanks to all who responded. I'm writing about 12 checks a year, but sometimes I need to carry my checkbook and don't like the cheesy plastic covers. I remember seeing some really nice leather...
Has anyone tried to make a check-book cover with leather?
check my listing on Friends of the Creek. Photos at the link to my Picture Trail albums
Dee, thanks for posting, I did see the game piece before, but not the note book. You do great work and are a credit to the Creek.
Vicki, I'm at Lake Rosalie near Lake Wales for the winter. Back to...
Hi Y'all, last summer I gave away a good bit of wood to creekers, but haven't seen any photos of finished products. You don't have to hoard the wood, I have lots more.
MDF is not practical for outdoor use. You could bury it in casting resin but I wouldn't guarantee that either.
I tried this old photo of my mother, small print, 72dpi, resampled to 11.5" and 200 dpi and lasered at 400 dpi. The material is named China Black Marble. It's from China but it ain't no...
I've mailed out 8 boxes of free wood to Creekers, and although I do appreciate the kind words of thanks and favorable comments, I have not yet seen any pictures of your use of the wood so I'll post...
I think I would go for building it up back to front using full width sheets of thin wood to get some heft to it. Use different colored woods, alter grain direction and build up areas with dummies as...
Rodne, glad all is well, sounds like your leaders studied Russian and American politicians and adopted the worse of both. You would be welcome to my place. I will be moving to Florida in the near...
Joe, the unit is on sale for 3K off, so the cost with the height adjustment was 8.33K plus $400 freight. A good cutter was 2.3K
George, this was for my cousins husband a top notch CNC Machinist. ...
Anybody know how to import a Corel file into PlasmaCam to cut metal? Bitmaps are supposed to import but the PlasmaCam does not recognize the files. All suggestions welcome.
Here's my first attempt at engraving on Elephant Ivory. The piece was 1.5" X 2.25" and less than a 16th thick. I didn't use Photograv, only PhotoPaint. Anybody tried photos? Ivory cameos used to...
Michael, I'll ship whatever you want. All the 5.75" wide stuff averages about the same thickness and I can stuff close to 70 pieces in a small flat rate box. Length would be 13 3/4" to fit the...
Here's a few more, made from one piece of Black Cherry 3.75" X 24" X a shy .25"201814201813
Thanks Frank, always glad to hear from you. I'm just trying to show relatively simple but salable stuff that can be made with the wood I am offering. More practical for the home business than the...
I got this shape from the Scrollsaw Workshop. Arrowheads are popular in many locations and I'm hoping to wholesale to some of the smoke shops around here. These are Black Cherry201720
Here's an update on heart shapes for multi-purpose use. The first one is Jatoba, two 1/8" thick pieces glued together, back is also engraved. I drilled two holes each .75" deep, filled the holes...
In the past I have used patterns from the Scrollsaw Workshop, which incidently, has some nice patterns. I have forgotten how to open the patterns in Corel X3. I have tried to import just the...
12" X 24" X 1/8" thick is very unstable and not easy to keep flat. If you need the large surface 1/8" plywood is easier to control. Baltic Birch is most commonly used and you can pretty much color...
