that includes the enclosure and filters. Everything.
I apologize. Was not my intention.
I hope someone can answer this for as I wonder the same thing. I believe that on the Y since it is not mounted directly to the frame of the machine, the vibrations get dampened. for the X the motor...
It seems they do not make a 12"x12" filter. It was pure luck I was able to find pre filter and hepa filter at 12"x12". And both motors fit perfectly inside this 12"x12" and I wanted to keep the...
mcmaster carr would probably have what you are looking for.
I will make a detail list of parts used. But it did cost me over $1,000. Expensive, but still cheaper then manufactured units. And most importantly, to do a complete filter change, the cost is over...
Thanks Steve. You are correct, the motors are on the bottom and pulling air from the top, then the clean air exhausts from the bottom of the unit. I am not at home and won't be for another 5 days....
My goal was to have my laser engraver (Gweike LG6040N) inside my spare bedroom in my apartment. My apartment is on a second floor of a three story building. My main obstacle was the air extraction. I...
Can't have a business without sales. Can't have sales without a product. Chicken or the egg?
I want to achieve this, but instead of dust collector I want to turn on my air compressor for air assist, only when cutting.
Hey Kevin,
I looked into inline blowers, but I am afraid that they do not have enough static pressure capability to attach a full fume extractor build onto it. But then again- this one seems to...
Hi Mike,
thanks for the reply. I am aware of that thread and many other filter build threads. I got the filter part down, and I have also purchased a Penn State economy DC as my air mover - but I...
just wondering if anyone else can chime in on this topic? Not necessarily the exact type but general specs would be great. Power of motor, type of blades or impellers used etc. etc. Better yet, does...
I have found that when using the chuck type rotary (irregular) when i change the step settings, the radius of the object I am about to engrave is the exact number that will work. No more "guessing"....
it will achieve the same level of detail, it will just do it a bit slower.
care to elaborate on this? I have both rotary (the chuck and the wheels) and I want to learn to use them. Any tips/advice would be profoundly appreciated.
you are scorching the cork because too much power and too slow. try to make 2 or 3 passes with lower power/higher speed combination.
When i was ordering with Gweike, they have options to use servo motors and synrad tubes. But this still leaves the questions of quality control in building the machine as well as the controlling...
I believe that a vacuum does not have enough CFM (it does not move enough air) to properly vent a laser.
if you are interested in venting back into the shop, you can bring down the inline fan...
Brandon,
what you need is a blower with more static-pressure "moving power". While inline fans are rated at 1000 CFM, they have very weak static pressure capabilities.
The filter adds a lot of...
Dan,
are you still using this system, has it held up? Do you use it to put the exhaust back into an enclosed room, or do you filter and then release outside?
I will mostly be engraving on wood veneer with PSA backing, but then I need to cut that veneer after it is engraved. But engraving will be the majority.
I am all over the place choosing a machine. I have engraved with a chinese machinem and with an epilog, and the differences are TREMENDOUS. I cannot afford a western system (unless i finance a GCC,...
do you have the entire table covered with your cutting/engraving material?
I would like to ask for general advice and help in making a decision. Well, I am at point squeezing the trigger on sending over the bank wire. I have narrowed my choices to two specific lasers, the...
