This reminded me of something that I posted over on a pyrography forum a while ago.

Was changing the channel and came across a lumberjack competition on TV. Now I normally don't...
Hi!
Pyroglassography was the only thing I could come up with to describe the style.
It's pryography painted to resemble stained glass. When I burn the picture all the items are broken down...
As some of you know that I have asked quite a few questions on wood finishes, stain, bleeding, painting over stain, warpage, etc... in regard to my pyrography/pyroglassography.
Well I finally...
Thanks for the replies.
I definately have to try and un-warp it before. Would probably put to much pressure on the frame and warp that too if I don't.
One thing, I had another piece that was...
I have a sheet of Birch plywood. It's 24" x 48" x 1/2".
It's warped to the point where it won't lie flat anymore.
Can I un-warp it?
I was thinking that maybe if I drenched it in water,...
Thanks for the replies. I am glad I am not the only one this bugs.
Some good ideas too.
Thanks again,
James :)
O.K. I buy a quart of Minwax Wood Finish stain. On the can it says "stir well". Now, how do you do this when the can is filled to the brim? LOL!
Dang it, the stuff spills over the top if you just...
Thanks!
Will test it and see how it comes out.
James :)
Thanks!
I was planning on testing it first but that will only give me a short term result. Was hoping someone might know the longer term consequences.

Can I apply lacquer on top of paper?
Just the regular plain photocopy paper.
I know it may sound like a crazy question but I want to print out something, paste it on a wooden board and then...
Thanks!
Will experiment and see who it looks.
James :)
A few of you may recall that I do pyrography (wood burning). I did some birds of prey so far and they look fine. At least that's what everyone says (hopefully they are not just being polite - LOL!)....
Congrats To The Winners!
Great Stuff!
James :)
Thanks for the replies.

What are the best brushes for brushing on lacquer?
I am tired of fishing hairs out of the lacquer with an exacto knife. LOL!
These need to be ones that come in small sizes. Like touch up or...
Thanks!
I also found out that Mohawk makes that dead flat lacquer.
Comes in a spray can. I e-mailed one place to see if they ship by Canada Post.
James :)
Thanks!
Looks like good stuff but you need spraying equipment (unless I read it wrong).
I am looking for brushable or in a spray can.
James :)
Thanks!
I also came across (in google) references to "Dead Flat Lacquer".
Anyone know any brand names of this stuff?
James :)
Can anyone recommend a finish/sealer for wood that dries really flat.
I have been using Deft Lacquer but they only have (as far as I cound find) Gloss or Satin. I got the satin but it still has a...
Here's something to think about. A lady over on the Pyrography forum said that she uses here pyrography pen to seal the wood. Uses it on a low enough setting not to burn the wood but hot enough to...
Thanks!
That's what I figured. Will pass the info on to the others.
James :)
I believe that I read that as wood ages it darkens. And exposure to direct sunlight will speed up the process.
Is there any way to avoid this? Or at least slow the process down?
This is in...
Thanks!
James :)
Thanks, I will check out the Canadian Forums.
