Thanks guys. Appreciate you taking the time to share your experience. Sounds like it will work. I have a good miter gauge and track saw and plan to use the saw much as Randy does.....

Hello all,
Been a while..... Building a home in AZ and my son, who is already there, has a need for a table saw. He's using it for home improvement. I am now a very occasional furniture maker...
Festool Rotex ROS
Seriously cool Don. Love the idea of the tiles. Design is not dissimilar to a dining table I built a while back....
That’s furniture, not a workbench. Stunning!
I've done it and it has held up for ~20 years....
All,
Found an excellent article by Frank Pellow on replacing motor brushes on my non-functioning Rotex. Looked like a simple job. Remove 2 screws at the back of the housing and slide the...
I sand through 180 or 220. I also found that sanding became much less onerous after I bought a Festool Rotex sander :)
Chris,
I should have mentioned - I've had the saw 3 years - the part and shipping cost me nothing.
Finally got around to calling SS. As suggested earlier, their customer service is first-rate. After sequentially determining that the problem could not be fixed by us, they volunteered to overnight...
Steven,
Interesting that I was a beta tester for the PCS. As part of the program, they sent several replacement parts, one of which was a new paddle switch box that was installed about 6 months...
So the resident handi-woman took at the saw this afternoon. Apparently the circuit breaker to the blade brake mechanism is fried - which should be a simple fix if parts are readily available. ...
All,
Went down to the stop and found my PCS DOA. No lights, no nothing. Electrical circuit is fine. Per the manual, I made sure that the electrical connections are OK and that the brake had not...
Joinery is obvious and easy.....

Looks like makore to me....
Wow guys - didn't realize that this thread has resurrected itself. It's really been 3 years, huh? I work and play golf much more than I make furniture these days......
Michael, if I remember...
Seriously cool work......
Yep,
Good product - great prices - good service. Had an issue with one order and they made it right with no questions asked.
Amazingly good advice.... a must read for those contemplating creating any new business. I'd emphasize that not only do you need to target the more affluent customer, you need access to them until...
Can't speak to the drills but I bought a Festool systainer specifically designed for fastener storage and couldn't be happier.
African Mahogany or Khaya.....
Me too.....
It depends on your budget. Do you need new equipment....... probably not. Is it going to measureably increase your quality of work or speed...... probably not. Will it make you happier.... only...
Harold,
I seem to recall having the same issue and, being the most mechanically disinclined person earth, I couldn't figure it out. I called Grizzly and had it fixed in no time. Best. Dave.
Cocobolo and cherry....... do a search and you'll see a few projects I've made.
