Another fan of Del's knives. I have 2 of his hook knives and would like to get the 2 1/4" Sloyd knife. I think Ben Orford also makes some great tools. I just wish someone in the U.S. carried them for...

Thank you Ken.
I've been a member here for a few years now and was just wondering why it is that I can reply to post in Neanderthal Haven but I can't reply to post in Swap and Sell? Can someone fill me in? Thanks.
Who is the wooden fore/try plane on the third shelf up by? Looks like a nice, newer one.
I have access to a heavy duty break at work that easily bends the brass to the V shape; where my trouble comes in is when I try to close the bend in a vise, the back always comes out looking like a...
I'm 5'8" in shoes. My bench is 31.5" tall. I do all hand work and it's great for planing. Obviously a little low for dovetailing, but overall I really like the low bench.
I too would be very interested to know how they folded the brass backs in the 18th century.
I've been searching for folded brass backs myself ever since Wenzloff lost his supplier. Got a couple from him a few years back and they were great and a real bargain price, but no luck finding...
That looks like a very nice, low profile, holdfast. Your work?
Hey Zach. My bench is a Nicholson style with a 1.5" thick top so sounds like this might work really well in my bench. Assuming your apron has 3/4" holes.
Hey Zach, what size holdfast holes do you have and how thick is your bench?
Thanks. That sounds more than fair for a hand forged pair of dividers from someone of Peter's talent.
Do you happen to know how much Peter gets for his dividers?
I have one from this fella in North Carolina. Very well made. They used to be much less expensive though. ...
Beautiful piece Zach. I too am happy to see some W&M style get some press. And to see another hand tool only guy getting a project in print. Still hoping for an all hand tool only magazine some day....
That's a good looking saw bench Gordon. TOO good looking. Hope it's got some battle scars by now. :)
Another saw bench sitter here. Height works out nicely for most operations and it's always handy right close to my bench.
Congrats on a fine plane! I've the good fortune to have acquired 2 used C&W smoothers over the years, a 1999 7 3/4" with a 2 1/4" iron and a 6 3/4" with a 1 5/8" iron, both pitched at 55*. They are...
I ordered a Mitsubishi Mr. Slim heat pump unit from ACWholesalers.com. Ordered it on Monday, July 16th and it arrived in my driveway the following Monday. Pretty quick I think. That's coming from...
[QUOTE=Trevor Walsh;1953493]Thanks Jamie, I really need to practice the lettercarving if I'm hoping to get it into a wedding gift, the pine was a pain. I can't wait to get into something like cherry...
That carving looks amazing. Nice touch!
Put my order in also, all four seaons. Hearing a lot of grumbling about the price on other forums. Not cheap at $40 a season, but worth it to me. Can't wait to watch.
Project was done entirely with hand tools, not that it matters.
Matters to me. :) Makes it all the more ! Looks really good. I got the kit, with the handles two or three Christmas' ago...
I started out as a power tool woodworker when I was about 18, influenced by the guy in the flannel shirt on tv every Saturday. Worked that way for quite a few years until about 4 or 5 years ago I...
I have not personally used either of the saws you mentioned but from what I've read, Lynx makes a decent saw, albeit with a blocky, uncomfortable handle. To me, a comfortable handle is what sets most...
