Grandfather to a very young me that thought he had a better way.
Well, that is like sitting on a sawhorse, slinging horse manure in your face and think your going for a sleigh ride.
Tell God...
Thank you John.
I too wish for everyone, members and non members alike to have a SAFE, HEALTHY and prosperious New Years!

It never ceases to amaze me the talent that we all posses in one way or another, count me in.
If you are still watching this thread. I built a few jewelery boxes out of walnut, cherry, and curly maple. I went to JoAnn fabrics and bought 2yds. of black velvet and some polyfill for padding....
Yes it is SMC10. I know all about typos, I could spell pretty well in my youth but have slipped lately(grey hair syndrome?:() You would think I would have had enough sense to use the spell checker...
Thanks for that info Steve, I ordered it.

Thanks for the reply John, no need to thank me for serving ('68-'71 -I did 2 tours in Nam as a door gunner HAL-3 Squadron), I enlisted because I felt it was my duty. Two of my uncles died on Omaha ...
Thanks for the info Paul, much appreciated!

WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW, WOW.
Did I mention WOW?:D
I like the way you finished it. For Curly Maple I like to flood on boiled linseed oil and after5-10 minutes wipe it off. Then let it dry for week and...
I am in need of a decent dado. I am considering the Oshlum. Does anyone have experience with it, and if it produces flat bottom dados? I am a disabled Vet on a fixed income and this fits my budget,...
I made that workbench for in my garage. One side of the 1/4" tempered hardboard I attached 18 ga. sheet metal with contact cement. When I'm working on a tranny, or anything else with grease fluids it...
I'm in. Wife will be glad not to have to keep sewing my pockets back on my current apron.
Matt if you tighten them as much as you felt comfortable with and the pulley still slides off, they are not making contact with the arbor. Is it a hard task to remove the pulley and check the threads...
Sure hope your feeling better Keith. Sadly I know how you feel. My "accident" was on a jointer. Jointing the edges of 1/2 X 2 1/2 cedar strips. I had 64 to do. After a monotenous number 34 I left my...
I feel the same Matt. When I first saw these tops I wrote them off as a fad doomed to breaks chips etc. I thought about posting but had second thoughts. I knew my first impression was prejudiced, not...
I'm in also, maybe if I was lucky enough to win, I might actually do something constructive on this PC :D Thank's Glenn, Missy, and ofcourse Taunton Press...
Nope :D The amp draw would be less than the 110V setup. Maybe you where thinking of 3 phase as opposed to single phase?
Instead of telling them you will contact "your attorney" try telling them you will contact the Attorney General in your state and theirs. My wife has worked for a law firm for 28 yrs. and asked her...

Jeff,
The only other recommendation I can make is to try and store the boards flat. For that length of time before use I would not store them upright(leaning against a wall). I'm lucky to have a...
Nice Gene,
I'll be constructing one later in the year. I also saw it on tv (david marks) and have it saved on my DVR. Like most things in construction, the base/foundation must be perfect to perfect...
Mreza,
A nicely accomplished project. I liked all aspects of it, especially the use of your jigs. I sometimes think that jigs are as important as the tools we use to construct them with. I look...
I believe you'll find tha MDF is denser than BB. Google any speaker construction site an you'll see they are made almost exclusivly of MDF, especiall subs. If you want a hardwood look, veneer it.
David I tend to agree with you on this subject: .
What I get from these programs/people; David et al, is perhaps not a project I would like to build, or even enjoy the style. I get a sense and...
