I agree with Carl looks like poplar, they do creative finishing jobs on there furniture using cheaper woods.:)

I have the PC and i'm pretty happy with it, haven't tried the Dewalt so i can't compare, but i do like my PC and use it a lot.
I know the Japanese versions are for left scribes and other for right scribes, and maybe the center one is for amberdexious (sp) scribes:D
I have the top handle model it fits better and feels better in my hand, never had a barrel handle saw before but tried one and it seemed a lil too bulky.
Allen you may want to rethink your post(need help w/pics). Peolple think you need help with posting pictures and not help with your saw. I don't think it would hurt to regrease.

Go with the Hitachi M12V if you are gone to put it in a table. Have mine two plus years and haven't looked back since.:D
I have m12v and couldn't be happier, have several Deltas for hand held use, and a couple Craftsman for dust collection :D :rolleyes:
