Actually I don't have a zero clearance insert in at the moment, just the stock one. It acts like the boards get hung up between the fence and the blade/riving knife, but it only happens when the DC...
Most dust is definitely down in the cabinet, but there is still quite a bit up top too without the Sharkguard exhaust operating. I am surprised at how well it works considering it's fairly open on...
Here are some photos of my Sharkguard install/DC mods.
You can see the Modified DC in the closet in the background. I've modified it by making the blower mount directly underneath the separator....
I have read up on DCs extensively over the last year, but have little experience of my own. I am still finishing my shop (one bay of a 3-car garage) and DC set-up which includes a sharkguard with a...
It is sometimes hard to find just the right thread on this topic since it's mentioned so often. I don't think the thread below has been referenced yet:

Thanks everyone. I'll go with the slider at this point...seems pretty clear now everyone with one wouldn't go back.
Can anyone expand on this difference in the blades? I was thinking the TS blades would work if they were the same size, but maybe not.
Thanks so far everyone.
If I did a 12", it would be fixed head not a slider. The Bosch 4212L fixed 12" can cut almost 8" where the 4410L 10" slider can go to 12".
I can see myself doing...
Wood...
Sorry, I couldn't resist.
I am not building houses, but would like to build furniture...I really don't know where this will take me, or where my interests will lead.
Robert - do...
I have a question on gauge thickness. You mention not using as small as 30 gauge. Is this because it dents so easily or because it can collapse?
I am in the process of assembling my DC system. ...
I am about to get a new compound miter saw and have been thinking about the Bosch 4410 which is a 10" slider. Dust collection is a moderate concern and looks like it would be a challenge on any...
Thanks Bob - I just sent you an email. I am outside Philly.
Most HVAC companies only carry flex duct for positive pressure. My piece is for the negative pressure side. I don't want something That will collapse.
Chris - I am trying to avoid using flex at...
I can find lots of sources for ten foot lengths of hose, but I only need one or two feet at the most. Does anyone know where to get just a little bit of this stuff?
I am running mostly solid...
If your main ductwork is overhead why don't you mount the fan/motor overhead and go down to the separator - eliminating another elbow? This would be re-engineering the base, but you're already doing...
I should mention that I am a hobbiest, but I like having good tools that I have no desire to replace/upgrade down the road. Something like this...I want my first to be my last.
I did just find...
I've done several searches and didn't find any discussion specifically on this. Plenty of comments on all sorts of jointer topics, just not this one.
I am looking at Grizzly 8" Jointers -...
Yes David – exactly.
I found it Phil - Thanks.
What George did is exactly what I have in mind including your baffle. Great minds think alike - right?
The only exception is that I intend...
I look for it some more Phil - thanks.
David - Like I mentioned, there will be some metalwork to do, but not nearly as much as starting from scratch. Fortunately, I have a small welder although...
I think you're misunderstanding me -
I am just going to change the 5" flex-hose to a single 6" diameter solid pipe going between the blower unit (impeller) and the separator. The filter and bag...
I couldn't find the post you are referring to, but I think I am going to mod my machine to the 6” anyway...especially considering the size of the inlet on the next model up their line.
...
Thanks Phil.
OK, now another perhaps overly detailed question:
I have the 2hp Grizzly G1029Z and have upgraded the filter to the Canister filter. This unit's specs show a capacity of 1550...
I am sorry to be so clueless here, Is the consensus to have a neutral vane, or delete it?
David - can you provide a link or some more info on this valve?
It sounds perfect for me since my compressor is mounted very high and not easily accessible.
