I use 25,000 for a 1/2" Trimaster on my MM16. I have not tried lower tensions so I cannot comment on what else might work.
Hi Vaughn - That is one really cool box. Very very nice!

Thank you all for the many kind words - my main reason for posting was to share with you the nice combination of these two woods.

Hi Lee,
What you are seeing is a 1/8" thick x <3/4" lip for the lid. When milling the box sides I rout a 3/4" x 1/8" deep groove on the inside 1" down from the top. After the box is assembled I...
As I mentioned in my thread on miter sleds, I have been having fun making some boxes out of highly figured wood. The box shown below is QS English Sycamore with panels & accents in Padauk. The box...

I would like to construct some small boxes (9 x 4 x 4 or 9 x 5.5 x 3.5) from a really nice piece of figured english sycamore. I intend to saw the lid from the completed box sides after glue-up. I am...
Hi Jeff,
I was out of town for a few days. Yes I have a stepstool (3-step ladder) nearby to the saw. I stand on that, loosen the four knobs approx 1/2 turn, slide the guard into the new position...
Steve,
This piece is extraordinary - really beautiful. I love curly sycamore - I have 2 boards in my shop just waiting for the right design.
Very Very Nice Indeed!
Rob - Yes, the design is from a very nice article on Woodcentral The ceiling mount was inspired by some photos posted by Sam Blasco on the MM forum in 2003. Sam also has some photos of a nifty...

Hi Jim,
Thanks for the info. I figured it out - I pasted the text for the message from MS word and evidently some hidden info came over with it. I deleted all the carriage returns and...

Today I am having trouble posting pictures - the message says I have too many pictures in my signature or previous post. The first try was 5 pictures for a total of ~400k. I cut it back to four...
