Thanks… we made them for special awards for a motocross racing series. The LED's are under the ring in the base and we roughed it up a little to diffuse the light passing through it…. it was a neat...

depending on the plexi, we typically start at 25% power and max speed with the air assist on. We are using a 100watt Vytek w/ 4" lens

we use 1/4" through 1" depending on the application. These bases were 1/2"
yep… 100% in house. we use HDPE and various PVC's and acrylics
we do a version of these. Bases are machined plastic. We also do Plug in and battery operated versions with switches. Nice Job!
That one took about 5 hours for the carving.
the quick safe answer is don't do it…. its not worth the hassle or losing your business.
Our Vytek laser is just over 3 years old. Its a 100w model and used to cut 1/4" plexi at around .8 ips
Lately, we have had to turn it down to .2 to get all the way through… lenses and mirrors...

2) glued halves together and textured them
The background stone texture was made with a grayscale bitmap I created in photoshop. Enroute Pro 5 was used to do all of the extruding, and texturing. The carving itself was done on a 5x10...
