I've only used cherry and maple. Both work very well.
Red Oak is a no-no

SAE 30 does not equal 10W30
I haven't tried the new blade yet. Hopefully that solves the excessive maple burning issue. For some reason I can cut cherry just fine.

I can't imagine imagine being without my 18V 1/4" impact driver. I also think that cordless is a must. If you do a lot of mechanical work then a pneumatic impact will also come in handy.
