Exquisite wood and excellent form to match!
Very beautiful!!!
I can simply say "WOW"!! The photographs are totally professional!!!
very pretty!!!
John the rustic, metalic look appeals to me! count me in as an admirer! Next you gotta post a picture of your "showroom" .....I am sure you must be short on shelf space! Keep on turnin
Simple yet elegant! I am given to understand that there is nothing simple aboutsegmented turnings....its a lot of precision work!
Alex I do agree with all here on the forum! Man, that is too much wood for one man!! Enjoy!!!
Mr. Keeton you are on a grand and very fast paced journey, very deep into the vortex!!! Great job!
Love the piece Baxter! Great wood too!
Bill sometimes I sits and thinks.....and I like it! Then I sits some more.....and I like it more!!! :)
This is very beautiful Steve! Your work is very consistent in terms of form and technique. I like the anlged tip for the finial and was wondering how its to be done, do you do it with the lathe...
Good photo and vase Mary! my first pics were full of shadows, you are off to a good start.
"Well sure, as soon as I had the outside done all kinds of color and a nice little void was now showing on the bottom. Guess that root had the last laugh! "
thats the beauty of nature!!! always...
Hey Bill this is a beauty! Next time you come across this kind of wood and dont want it, just gimme a holler :-)
Congrats Steve!
Thank you all for the wonderful advise. I am going to mull over both the ideas of putting a collar and turning a number of finials and in the meantime I will look up the tutorial that Steve has...
Hi, I just finished turning this redwood hollow form and am wondering what size finial I shoud go for. The HF is 9.5"w and 5.5" h. All suggestions and ideas are welcome and much appreciated.

Very unique! Looks great! Would also like to see a picture from top and the front.
Very nice work John! I am already visulazing the finished product and I know its going to be marvelous! Great job.
A pristine beauty! Seems like the icicle, pointing upwards, is seeking its Origin! Marvelous work. Congrats Steve. Definetely deserves a prominent place in any show.
I love the simple form of the bowl and the burn lines definetly enhances its beauty. You have allowed the spalting to display perfectly in the form you gave the vase and gave it its due prominence....
Mike I guess spalting is nature doing the dyeing work for us......only in an unimaginably beautiful way! I like both the pieces.
A piece Excellento!!!! Love the form and the wood!!! Thanks for sharing.
All three are very appealing but if I have to choose I'd choose the cherry!
thats a great transformation. I like the finial and agree with Charlie Knighton that it will get you second looks.
