You're better off than I am... I'm still aspiring to own some Grizzly products. That's about as expensive as I'll ever need of a machine. Just can't justify anything more expensive as a hobbyist.
I did not say it was a fact. I've just seen reports of minor defects from people who have received their Grizzly machines and simply made an assumption based on that as to how they keep prices low....
Well, thanks for straightening that out for us!
I know it's been pointed out that Jet and Powermatic have a much longer warranty, but just look at the price differences. The 20" planer with helical cutter (Grizzly catalog shows one that looks dead...
Oh gawd that was funny! You made my day... lol
You can go through the Grizzly catalog and spot the very same machines sold by Jet, Powermatic, General, Rikon, and others, in many cases. The differences are in the motors used, some parts are...
A caul is any sacrificial board for clamping. It can be trued, or "sprung" by tapering the ends or.the middle. If you want a trued glue up using cauls, you want to use a sandwich of trued up calls on...
Correct me if I'm wrong... The cyclone takes care of the big stuff, the filter the fines, and as Bill Pentz has said, you need your filter to be "seasoned" where it has a good coat of dust on the...
Do you feel the 1023 is a better saw? Why? I'm taking a good hard look at the 1023, myself...
The problem, to me, with the Grizzly is that the helical head only having 32 inserts isn't enough. The original G0634 had a helical head using 56 inserts. The new one looks like the inserts are...

I see some differences, but the basic design is the same.
Nice machine, but OUCH!!! Just reading that price made my wallet cry...
Wood magazine had an article on the 5 benchtop tools they'd buy in a heartbeat, and it listed the Ridgid. It commented on the plastic parts and light duty motor but concluded that at the price, you...

Digital read out.
As someone who's in construction, typically, most sound deadening in commercial buildings is done with simply applying bats of insulation between the walls. Sometimes, they use normal insulation, but...

This is a fallacy... Economics 101: A good or service will sell in the market for whatever the market will bear, regardless of the cost to produce. If a table saw costs $1000 to produce, or $2000, if...
It's funny some people say that around this forum, because typically, historically, Italians aren't known for reliability. Even Ferraris have long been considered somewhat "fragile" automobiles. They...
According to their specifications, as presented in the PDF file from their website, the G0514XF has "aluminum table trunnions". The G0514X2 has cast iron table trunnions. Also, the X2 version has the...
Like I said... I'm in commercial construction. I've worked on everything from a small bank branch to skyscrapers and huge hospitals. I've been on remodels, but I'd say 90% of it was new construction....
