Welcome to the club Joe!
now leave the computer alone and get some wood spinning ;-)
Here's my tip,
try dipping the tip of your screw chuck in some paste wax before you mount the blank, it makes getting the blank back off much easier, used to use candle wax but found paste wax works...
Robo, I do believe it is the same metal as he uses on his coring and hollowing tools, it really does hold an edge really well, the only down point to this tool is its size, it's pretty big and as...
Up to about 1month ago I was using a dvrxp for around 4 year and never came across the problem you mention, you do mean the screw that you use to set the toolrest at whatever height and position you...
Donny, I actually have this tool and to be honest it is the most crap tool I ever bought, now don't get me wronge it is very well built but the problem is that the cutters are just too small, it just...

Thanks guys, these forums are so helpfull, from now on I will use the motor weight plus a tiny bit more, the reason I ask is I was coring a 13inch bowl last week and got a bad jam, and the belt made...
This may seem a little stupid, but I was wondering if any of you powermatic 3520 users could help me out, abt 3-4 week ago I got a new 3520 (Jet in UK not powermatic but same machine) and I was...

i like both, but especially the top one (the bowl) I like this chunky style and have done several myself, when I see one I always seem to get a scene from pagan England into my head...
Harry, thanks for replying, I already have a set of the Kelton hollowers, and yes you are correct, they are very good indeed, but I wanted something to speed things up a little, the ring cutters do...
Hi guys!!!
looking into getting a new hollowing tool, narrowed my search down to three (that are available in the UK)
They are the woodcut pro-forme, the hamlet big brother 2, and the rolly Munro...
Congrats mate!!!
i just got my new 3520b last week, it's a fantastic lathe, but boy was it heavy, it nearly killed me getting it into my shop (had no body to help me) but it was worth it, on Friday...
Peter, I use pigment (dry) for making and mixing artist paint, most craft or art stores will sell them, there is a VAST array of Colors to choose from ( much more than the inlace colors!!!), and it...
Me thinks I must try this freezer/refrigerator tactic, cheers guys!!!
does it also work on inlace too??? (because that stuff is pretty expensive and seems to crystalize in no time once the seal is...
Jeff my 3520b now weighs in at 1200lbs and I can still make it judder around (remember, your lathe can never weigh too much :)) although it is MUCH MUCH more stable than my old dvrxp (and I had...
Nate, I have a pair of the oneway mega cole jaws (16inch I think) and when they are whizzing around they can be quite scary, but I just got a new Jet 3520b that comes with a remote on/off switch so...
Chip, I found that using 2part epoxy works as well as inlace, and like you say, It don't take nearly as long to cure, works out quite a bit cheaper too!!!
as for CA glue, sorry cannot help with that...
Tim, my shop is a tiny tiny tiny 9ft by 6ft !!!
Having so little space can be a real pain in the butt, like last Tuesday my 3520b arrived but beforehand I had to get everything out to be able to...
Watch some of his other videos, and I have but two words on my mind, DUST and LUNGS !!!
Nice shop!!!
That 2024 would run so much smoother with 300-500lbs of ballast strapped to it though:)
thats the only bad point about the nova lathes, not enough mass,
wish I had as much space as...
Hi guys!
My jet 3520b finally arrived Tuesday, had no one to help so had to assemble it myself (ouch, this things heavy!!!) anyhow somehow I managed to do it, but while I was getting things sorted...
Paul, I just got my 3520b on Tuesday, and had no one to help so had to carry it and assemble it myself, carrying the bed nearly killed me but somehow I managed it, haven't had time to do any serious...
Jerry, copper-slip grease would probably work better than normal grease (by normal I think you know what I mean) it works great in jobs like what you need.
