All,
I am looking at these two and see the basic similarities and shared parts but have one question remaining.
The SawStop version uses a long slot for the miter lock knob which carries right...
Please contact me.
Thank you,

I live in MD and would love to find somewhere I can pick up some Bartley's.
Any ideals?
OK- thanks.
I take it the panel is secured as well so it does not come loose at the end of cut and bounce off the bit?
This would be a fine time for a large CNC router table with a vac system for...
Hello,
I have a job where I need to cut out a number of access panels out of veneer covered 3/4" ply. The cutouts need to be used for the panels.
When installed the panels need a 1/4" wood...
I end up needing 3/8" stock often enough that splitting 4/4 boards on the BS is a good way to go with the expensive woods I work with.
With you on the "bah, humbug" though.
-Patiently waiting...
That's a good ideal.
My checklist is so automatic that it is not even conscious.
I have caught myself in the middle of a cut on occasion realizing that the feed path of hands and blade will meet....
I would buy one of the 14's and use it for few years. When you start to need more capacity, pick up a larger saw and keep the 14 for scroll work.
I went this route and keep two band saws set up....
Exactly right- I believe most experienced workers don't give it too much thought.
If the work calls for no visible gap- just cut the piece to fit and carry on.
The obsessive part I believe is...
I would use epoxy.
You will get gap filling and strength.
Not idiot proof but the guy looks like a pro who is in the middle of a large run of those parts by the way he is moving.
He has the feed rate dialed down and the set up probably cuts fairly smooth...
I see many teak boat interiors in my work that were regrettably oil finished.
Over the years the finish goes too dark and tends to get grime in the wood pores as well as black mold if the boat was...
OK- thanks all for the ideals.
I ended up going to the local BORG and went with the Rubbermaid gear. It is not as heavy as I would have liked but will do the trick for me. It's done- one thing...
Hello all,
I need to cover a wall in my shop with some sort of storage system for boards.
I have a 20' run of wall that is over a long bench. I have 5' of height over the bench for the racks....

Great lift.
I suppose I would get the new iteration with the sidewinder handle if purchasing today.
Under no circumstances would I forgo the quick lift feature of these lifts. My RL is...
For that price I will drive down from Maryland...
It's about all I buy as I do yacht carpentry.
I am paying $22 bf for 4/4 in random widths up to 10", $26bf for 6/4 and thicker and $28bf for wider than 12".
It adds up fast at these prices...
Let the glue gum up a bit then zip it off with a good scraper.
I use these:

It's tough when you don't use one all the time.
I used to hang enough rock that it was a no brainer- 'just do it'!
Ha- 20 years later I have to rock the shop and buy a nice Rigid dry wall gun and...
Set it up so your eyes/face are not level with the chuck.
Keep the reach to handle just over shoulder and work table used most about mid chest.

Same boat but I have never used a 23 ga.
You thinking the 23 is a better clamper for some reason than the 18 or 16?
Just now I have a narrow crown stapler, a 16 trim gun and the 18 brad gun.
...
Over many years and quite a few cordless kits my policy is to toss the whole works when the batteries die.
These tools are improving all the time and by the time I have used up the battery I have...
A 18 ga brad nailer is handy for "clamping" on small projects like that.
Just use the appropriate length nail a shoot a few in to hold it together till the clue dries.
Keep your thumbs out of the...
I am not quite there yet as the machine is still being rebuilt but...
I have a old pantomill that I am planing to do brass inlay work with.
