If you're in the market for a new dog bed, you might consider one of these for your pup...

The Powermatic of dog beds... a little pricey, but well...
My thoughts, too. Although the joint is cool (if not a little gimmicky), I just don't see it as being a novel invention.
For those of you who get a kick out of interesting joinery, this is worth a look...

I'll be curious to see if the patents for their wedged...
Mark, this is terrific... the concrete, steel, glass, and wood all work together so well. This is such a clean, calm, and warm design to my eye... unfortunate that this type of residential...
Well said, Mark. Too bad the WSJ journalist didn't have the opportunity to include you in the interviews. It would have added a more complete perspective to the article.
I would bet that the...
This is the way to do it if you don't want to use "chemicals". The sun beating down on the black plastic should also warm the soil enough to kill off any weed seeds lurking under the plastic (140...
Matt, have you tried one of these?

Not nearly as fast as a Triumph, but I can really scoot along on the flat Midwestern terrain around here!

Very thoughtfully designed... pretty much what you'd expect from LV!

Aw, come on guys... I can't be the only one to be suckered in by the Porter Cable Profile sander. I never thought it could be possible that a sander could leave a surface in worse shape...
I used multiple coats of BLO and a top coat of wax on my MDF router table top. Don't bother sanding... I don't think you will gain anything by doing it. It's plenty slippery... although I doubt it...
Bravo Mike! Your workmanship with this piece is impressive. The ebony really works with the design... the joinery is an interesting extension that John Hall made of the G & G style.
Have taken a...
Beautiful craftsmanship & design... of the beds that you've posted, I like this one the best. The combination of curves & slatted headboard really do it for me.
Could you tell us more about the...
Mark,
Have you had issues with the top piece curling after plowing out all of that material? Also, how far down the loose tennons do the saw kerfs for the wedges go? Thanks for the underside...
Sounds a fantastic journey that you're planning! I hope that it works out so that you can make the trip.
For your next overnight stop on your trek south you might consider Illinois Beach State...
Hi John,
Cliffside Park in Caledonia (south of Milwaukee) might work for you.

I've never spent any time there, so I can't vouch for how...
My guess is that Tom is smart enough to have figured out that he doesn't need to convince a potential customer to buy a LN dovetail saw instead of a Wenzloff dovetail saw. He's much better off...
Mark,
The table looks great! Very cool miter joinery detail... thanks for your explanation in the earlier thread. Funny how some dogs love to have their pictures taken... our furry guy always...
I realize that the pondering of Tom Lie-Nielsen's income was just good natured curiosity... and we've gotten way off topic here... but I can't resist.
It's my sincerest hope that Tom is making a...
I've found that the scalloping from a Byrd head is much more noticeable with really dense woods like wenge and ebony. With something like walnut, I need to inspect very carefully under bright light...
Sounds like you may have caught the Chris Schwarz article, but in case you haven't...

I can't compare them to the 750's,...
That's a great price... less than half of the best price I've seen around here in the Chicago area.
I've been thinking about making some outdoor furniture, too. Since I'm not willing to shell out the $$$ for teak, I've been considering purpleheart. Although more expensive than ipe, purpleheart is...
Thanks Roy, I think this is probably the way to go. I'll have to go crack open the yellow pages & call around.
