Adam; As one who spent more time hand milking cows than I care to remember, I can pretty much rule out a milking stool. I'ts way too short and I don't know anyone that would use a four leg stool to...

Eric I have a feeling if it were an easy fix he would have done it before putting it up for sale. I would run away from that one.
Steve

Rodger; Thanks for this thread. I have first hand knowlege of how quik this can happen. I was going to post this last spring but never got around to it.
This is a chunk of box elder crouch. I did...
Ed; I have the same old saw as you. If I remember right the ball turns with the lead screw. You are right it isn't much of a bearing but then you don't change it that often. One trick that I learned...
Stephen. I have to wonder if light guage fence wire is strong enough to pull a half mile of wire? Also if your window weight catches on something solid, and the wire breaks, I sure wouldn't want to...
Bill if you are trying to turn green maple make sure your spur drive isn't just spinning in the endgrain of the wood.

Brian I have the same lathe. The center that came with my lathe was the same way. The one thing I did notice was that once you put a piece of wood on the lathe the wobble or play went away. as...
Denny I see no reason that it won't work just fine. I have two grinders and wolverine setups mounted on a roller stand and it works great. One word of caution though, Hot grinder sparks and dry...
I got one at Woodcraft that works great. One thing to look at is weather it has a drilled and tapped hole in the end of the taper. If you plan on using it in the headstock you need a draw bolt to...
Glenn I just got mine on Friday. Luckily everything seems to work as it should. Just a thought did you install the grub screw when you installed the insert? If so don't forget to remove it before...
Michelle you never fail to amaze me. I have built a few easy to build dining chairs. I know how much work goes into one. Yours is way beyond what I could do.
I used to have Kodiak's twin brother....
One other comment on the base. If you make your base a little bigger and weld the upright off center you can swivel it off to the side and get a better angle for hollowing.
The rest sure looks good....
One of your best yet. Ya got to love that wood.
Steve
Please don't quit posting your pens John. I don't always comment because they are so much better than I can produce that I don't feel qualified to comment. I still love seeing them. I have stolen...
John I am not really qualified to comment on many turnings, But I just had to say I love your "High fashion" piece. I only wish I could come up with new designs like that.
Thanks for showing us...
Great save on that one Billy. Some times the best comes after we have to remake something. I like it a lot.
