Hey Dave,Thanks for breaking that down for us. My wine-level was at the perfect spot, and I followed it through....pontificated...maybe had another sip, and then considered myself a bit smarter...
Cutting polycarbonate or acrylic or anything like that is usually a slow ride. You can back the power off just a smidge but run it ultra slow. Like...5-10 speed. I was running really high pulse...
Absolutely, Martin. They have a whole line of materials with a damn good adhesive already applied. I utilize the clear version for nameplate slider spacers in room signs, and the colors for ADA...
..>Thought I would put up an edited version of my PM reply to Dave in case anybody was getting stuck on something like this:
No problem, Dave! It's really difficult to say which one will work...
Like others have mentioned, walnut is a difficult wood to work with because of the limited contrast the darker wood will be giving against the laser. That being said, there is plenty of walnut out...
Hang on.....this just in: NOT just for chicks. :D
Thanks for the good words, peeps. Here's a pair that I did for some friends. Dudes, too. They make great bachelors gifts, birthday...etc. and so...
Here's one I did for my wife...40power, 20speed. I had a "whoops" moment, when I forgot to shield off the latch mechanism at the bottom from getting lasered and hit the panic button. Left a little...
Thanks for the compliments, folks! I learn a lot of things from this forum.
Mr. Shepard is right on the money when he talks about minutes vs. hours. I know a great deal of this stuff seems...
Hey Scott
Since you had a dog pic up, I thought maybe some comparison kinda stuff might help. Check it.

Have you checked belt tension?
I like the bad motor problem as well. When you move the gantry across horizontally via the keypad controller, does it go smoothly or have a bit of a skip here and...
I love me some PhotoShop and have become proficient in getting what I want.....but that's through a hell of a lot of trial-and-error, and sometimes that part has eaten into some profit. I had some...
Yeah....that was stupid of me to give an opinion without checking with you first.
I have, Jeff....Linseed Oil.
I disagree, Dan.
The poster asked what the best was, and I feel that VanSon's ink is and I gave my examples to back it up.
I'll ignore the other cheap comments about Pantone colors and bright...
Maybe you guys aren't trying hard enough.
I've had great success with Van Son Inks.

You know what they say about the laser engraving business, right?
"If you want to have 1 million dollars from the laser, then start with 2."
Yeah...I dig acrylic. I haven't had a lot of opportunity to work with it, but I really enjoy it when I do.
Here is a promo piece I did for a band....

Taking away some of that background allows room to not get lost in contrast-hell.
Whatever works for you, Larry. Tell me how you really feel.
I like PhotoGrav.
Is that wrong?
Thank you for the kind words, everyone. I'm really appreciative of the positive vibes and I'm glad I can offer up something unique to talk about.
Pricing is a really tough cookie in these...
Yep....it can conflict. I run XP. Rocking it old school. No problems, though.
Here's 2 pieces that I've finished up. Both of these are on some not-so-great marble...the grain was just reeeeaaal prominent in these couple of pieces, so I thought I would goof around with a few...
