I do have one,
But I bought mine from Frank Sudul. It is an exact copy of Franks. I guess they bought the rights to Franks design.
It works really well if you can live with the large entry...

Hi Leo,
Thanks for taking the time to post the profile.
I love it!!
Best wishes,
Dave
Looks great Leo,
But I always reserve judgement until I see a profile pic. For me, that really tells the story.
Best wishes,
Dave
Hi John,
The first thing I do is invite them to our local club to see a demo. If they still want privite lessons I will do that.
I charge 100.00 for an 8 hr. day. I provide all the wood, tools...
What Reed said,
In a past life I made a lot of Shaker chairs that needed sized at the tenons. I used an open ended wrench sharpened at the top to get a pefectly sized tenon.
I did find that a...
Hey Duff,
If you have a 1950's Conover, you might want to list it on ebay. :) I think they started selling them in the 80's.
Also Ernie had the first lathe bed that would not rust. :)
That...
Hi Eric,
I have tried a lot of them and my favorite is made by Tim Skilton. It lasts forever and holds the discs very well.
I just don't waste my time with others anymore. When I find something...
Hi David,
I have done them both ways. I think they both have their place.
Here are two that come from the same tree. One turned end grain and one turned side grain. I like them both. :)
Dave
Hi Mike,
Nice score!!
I also have two of them. One for my Jet mini and one for my big Oneway.
I would not sell either one for any amount of money... Well... maybe a million dollars. :) but...
Here are my grinds. The first two are at about 60 degree nose angle, and the big one is about 62. They work well for me... but that is the angle that I learned on.
I have experimented quite a bit...
Hi Harvey,
One of the first I bought was the John Jordan video "Hollow Turning"
I still think it is one of the best ever produced. I learned a lot from it. I also like the David Ellsworth...
Hi Matt,
I have two of the Oneway centers and would not want to be without them.
It seems that the Jet is a direct copy of the Oneway center. I am not sure if they use the same quality bearings...
Hi Bruce,
Terrific looking work. I especially like the Walnut platter. Wonderful figure and you let it speak for itself.
Best wishes,
Dave
Hi Lance,
I remember seeing this mod too. Here is one that I found.

Roger,
I have seen this posted several times in the last few weeks.
I feel it is important to give credit to the creator. It is from a hand out that I and many others received several years...
Thanks for the link to the video, I loved it!! I use the Oneway system myself, but I did love the joy you showed with your finished coring. I have been there myself. It is a really good feeling.

Hi Norm,
Just a note to all, The AAW journal is now published 6 times a year. It took a little bump in $$$, but well worth it for me. Betty Scarpino is the new editor and has done a fantastic job....
Now that's funny :)
Dave
Hi Mike,
I have a 2436 with the 3 hp motor. I have to say I have never slowed it down or stopped it... even when coring. It is a beast... but If I screw up it can hurt you. I just try to never...
Hi Gary,
Here is a Chechen Natural edge burl turned. It could be it. :) Mexico origin I was told.

Hi Gary,
It looks good to me, but please post a profile pic when you can.
It may be Madrone burl.. and that is a domestic. :)
Here is one I turned a few years ago. It really pops when you...
Hi Alan,
I do use the discs from Vince. They are great products. But I believe the blue discs are 2-3/8". There are times when I want to sand right up to a detail and like the discs not to hang...
Hi David,
I see from the pic you posted that there is a lot of sapwood vs heartwood in the bowl blank. In my experience this can cause a lot of tension in the wood. They seem to dry/cure at a...
Hi Mark,
I have the Oneway 2436. The gap is 1-3/4". And the thickness on the ways is 1/2" . That 1/2" is where the guide block for the tailstock runs under the ways. It is a bit thicker farther...
Hi Mark,
I do not have that lathe, but I think the headstock has the ability to rotate. It may be that the headstock is not quite lined up to the bed. I would check this first.
Best wishes,...
