    Another Christmas gift post

I am almost embarrassed to post these pictures, compared to the stuff I have seen. You guys do some amazing work. Anyway,
every year my husband gives his employees Christmas presents and he usually asks me to make something. Since he is always
buying me tools (stealth gloat on a wonderful husband) it is kind of hard to say no. The problem is I generally end up making about
24 of these gifts. Most are for his employees and a few for family and friends.

Only fitting that the best of the lot goes to the woodworker! Very nice gifts! I can rarely make it past doing one of anything. I did 5 jewelry boxes this year, and it seems to stifle my creative juices. I admire your work and ability to finish that many or them.

Thank you all. I generally start on this type of project a good 6-8 months ahead of time. Because of the number of gifts needed I try to keep it nice, pretty, and unique but simple, otherwise the costs would be outrageous and it would take me even longer to do.
These type of projects also interfere with other things I would like to make such as furniture, cabinets etc, so I generally try to multi-task projects. In other words, I am usually working on at least 2 or 3 different projects (or to-do's like sharpening) at the same time.
Thank you for looking and Happy Holidays.

Lori, those are nothing to be embarrassed about at all. They're wonderful gifts. I'm sure the recipients enjoyed getting them.

    Now now Lori,
Please don't beat yourself up. I did much worse as I failed to complete mine in time!

    Great work

Very nice indeed, Lori. I did a short run of maple kitchen knife set holders this Xmas for the first time as I usually stay busy with larger carcass work. But.. it was a nice change of pace for me and I may do much more next year. The run of 4 only took a day and a half as I found it didn't take me much more time to do 4 than one.

But.. 24 of them would be a challenge to avoid the process becoming tedious and losing interest.. Again.. well done ma'am...

    Sarge..

What Jerry said - there's a world of difference from purchasing a gift for someone and crafting a gift. I have a little pine note clip on our stove that my son made in the sixth grade from a couple of wood pieces and a clothespin. It's a treasure. BTW, I like your clocks.
