    I found this book "A Course In Wood Turning"

    thought people might be interested

    the plans are very detailed
    would sure help with some of the designs for bowls,boxes and candlesticks

    The old masters of or craft

    Pete, I for one am a very fond of old books about mecanical and building! It looks like if the rest of the layouts are as nice as the posted pic it will help you in your designs and turning techniques! Great find!

    Found one at Amazon

    A couple of months ago I was lucky to purchase one from Amazon. Great piece of turning history to say nothing about the authors.

    Thanks for the link. Loved chapter IV Figure 3. However, I have to admit, that as a pastor, I have actually sneaked in a brief turning session between places to be almost dressed like that !

    I've been asked to make 5 gavels and I wasn't sure 2" material was thick enough - now I know how 'they used to do it'.
