The latest FWW has reviews of shoulder planes and they gave the thumbs up on the Lee Valley model giving them best value and best plane award... that should tell you something... perhaps LN will have some competition

I saw that article, but it covered only the Medium Shoulder plane and not the bullnose

It looks like a winner to me, Mark. And since the 'nose comes off, it's also going to be great for getting into corners quite nicely. Two planes in one which makes the price quite attractive. No question, Lee Valley is really doing some nice work with their plane designs, making them attractive even to us "electron eaters"!!
