    Square Rack

In the slow process of organizing my shop, it became apparent a till was needed for my squares.

This is made of scrap and is mounted with cleats so it can be taken down easily and placed on a bench. One other consideration was that it may someday be stowed like a drawer.

The layout changed as the project moved along, but they all still fit.

Best stay away from garage sales now, though

or you'll find another square you just must have, and then where'll you be?

    Nice storage.

I need to organize...I need to organize...

I like the looks, a bit rustic! Nice job!

Actually, I have a few more, mostly the combination, carpenter or draughtsman variety. But some others of similar size or newer style than these. These are the ones I use the most.

Thanks. When I first saw this, I thought it said, "I like the hooks."

They were made from a piece of scrap poplar (I think) that was given a rabbet with a Stanley 45 and then the cutouts were done with a forstner bit. The rest of the shaping was done with gouges and chisels and saws, Oh My!

The acorn is just held on with tape. I didn't like the hole there. Trying to figure what kind of piece should go there.

I hate to break it to ya but a couple of those don't look very "square".

I keep thinking I should make a little rack behind every machine. Do you know a secret to not needing a square when they are on the other
    side of the shop?

    It looks good.

    Good eye Joe,

Those are a 1:8 and a 1:6 dovetail markers by Joseph Marples.

That is if you mean the ones in the lower right hand corner.

Otherwise it is likely caused by the angle and the camera.
