another try
Ralph,
I'm assuming that you are testing how to include a picture in your post. I just went through the whole thing and there are some things that are not obvious -one of those things that is easy too do once you know how.
If you are still having problems, you can send me a PM (private message, click on my name to get to option) and I'll see if I can help you (I'm still a novice).
You can eliminate this post (your thread and all posts attached to it) by looking at your 1st message and editing it. It will ask you if you want to delete message and the reason why. This is what I did during my testing.
Regards, Joe
Ralph,
I forgot --- do a SEARCH on "Questions on responding to a Post on SMC" which includes some good references that I received from other users.

Yes Joe I am trying but just can't get it rite. Every time I get a (this page can't be diaplayed) notice when I try. Just bought a new camera and thought that mite make a difference but it did not.
Ralph,
Is the message you are getting "this page can't be diaplayed" or something like "File Too Large, Limit for ....". And at what stage in the process is the message being display, i.e., when you double click on the picture, try up upload.
For now, I'm going to assume that the picture size is too large --- and an of the many experts out there, you can hop in anytime you want .....
1. Start off with a smaller picture. Look at your instructions on something like "Quality Setting in Still Photography", "picture size", etc. Set it to the lowest setting. I have Fuji and had it set at 3MB (2048 x 1536), way too big. I dropped it to 0.3MB (640 x 480) and it got a lot smaller.
2. Take a picture and try to upload it. If it is still too big, you'll get the above message "File Too Lange, ...". Mine was something like 123KB and it has to be something like 107KB.
Pull up the picture, reduce the size and copy it to a new file.
a. I go to START/PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/WINDOW EXPLORER/click on your folder, double click on a picture, right click, click on Properties, and will give go a size. This is the size that has to be reduced.
b. Click OK, click on box second from the right on the bottom toolbar, looks like mountain peaks (?) (will say "closes this program and open the image for editing"). Click on Image in the upper toolbar, click Stretch/Skew, change both Horizontal and Vertical to 80%, click OK, FILE, SAVE AS, save it under a different name (I append an "_a" to the original name), FILE, EXIT, say YES to save changes.
Go back to a., "double click on a picture, ..." selecting the new picture; the size should be alot smaller.
Try to upload the new picture
Assuming it works, i.e., says that it is there, nothing will actually be copied or shown until you actually "submit" the post. Because of that, all the pictures always appear at the end of the post.
Hope the above helps. It's a somewhat long procedure but goes pretty quick. But I know there has to be a quicker and easier way of doing it. Again, the experts are invited to help out!!!!!!!
Just to double check, I'm including (trying) the picture I used for a test case with this post --- if it works, you'll see a non-wood picture but what the heck. If it doesn't work, back to the drawing board.
Regards, Joe
Ralph,
I guess I'll try again!
Last one didn't work! I uploaded it but it did not show up in the "Current Attachments" area. Now it is and let's see what happens!
After "Submit Reply" you'll see "Attach Files", "Valid File exten..." then the list of files that have been attached, and finally, "Manage Attachments".
