Great looking piece you have there. I would have never thought to do the drawers/cabinet that way, but it really does look fantastic in the end.

Beautiful table, I like everything about it. The dovetails are amazing, gorgeous stock, and the proportions are very pleasing.

    Jason,

As my 17-year-old might say, in a very understanded tone, 'sweeeet'. Love the unique design, hand-cut 'tails, and - most of all - the use of sapwood as an accent in a couple of locations. Very well done...... Best..... Dave.

Wow, I really like the incredible DT work on this piece. It seems like you have a nack for photography as well. Craftsmanship like that doesn't come without many hours of devoted work. Congratulations on a truly beautiful piece of work.

I was going to say something about having "two callings" in your life--the clergy and woodworking, but apparently I once again forgot the third...amazing photography! And the fourth...interior design. That piece really looks outstanding "installed"!!!!!!!

Jason, you never need to apologize for posting pictures of your work. Every piece is always amazing and a true piece of art. I feel honored to be on a forum that has people with such talent. Seeing the pice in its intended spot makes it look even more exceptional. I appreciate people like you who are willing to share your work with us. I've been "collecting" some curly cherry for a project and can only dream that it comes out looking close to the pieces you produce.

Everyone: You guys are very humbling with your words. Very kind and very generous.

Howie: I didn’t really do anything special with the split. I made sure all the loose bark was out of it and sanded down the sharp edges. That's about it. I guess I didn't think that much about it.

    Dave: Funny! Aren’t kids great?!

Jim: You’re hilarious! Don’t let my elders know about my three other “callings”

Don: I just checked out your website. Incredible looking dog! Congrats. I can’t wait to see what you put together with the collection of curly cherry. Be sure to share it with us.

Jason, not sure how this one got by me! Wow! That is an incredible piece. And, the setting in which you "installed" it really works - great photo, as well. Very good lighting for the shadows.

With my current effort toward handcut DTs, I was blown away by these. You and others keep moving the bar on me!

I do have a question on the use of the dovetail on the back of the drawer. It appears the drawer sides are maple perhaps, or pine, but in any event, the tail of the rear dovetail appears cherry - or is that just the light or endgrain?
