Jason, you never need to apologize for posting pictures of your work. Every piece is always amazing and a true piece of art. I feel honored to be on a forum that has people with such talent. Seeing the pice in its intended spot makes it look even more exceptional. I appreciate people like you who are willing to share your work with us. I've been "collecting" some curly cherry for a project and can only dream that it comes out looking close to the pieces you produce.

Howie: I didn’t really do anything special with the split. I made sure all the loose bark was out of it and sanded down the sharp edges. That's about it. I guess I didn't think that much about it.

Jason, not sure how this one got by me! Wow! That is an incredible piece. And, the setting in which you "installed" it really works - great photo, as well. Very good lighting for the shadows.

With my current effort toward handcut DTs, I was blown away by these. You and others keep moving the bar on me!

I do have a question on the use of the dovetail on the back of the drawer. It appears the drawer sides are maple perhaps, or pine, but in any event, the tail of the rear dovetail appears cherry - or is that just the light or endgrain?
