    Snowshoes

Anyone ever make a pair of snow shoes out of wood. How did you make them and did they turn out good. Online set of plans or how to?

Check out this link for a great book on building snowshoes; step by step. I have the older book version. The new version appears to have added an outdoor furniture section. Good luck.

    Hope this helps.

I have purchased the book that Rick links to. It is a very workable book with plans for the shoes and bending jig. I have built the jig and purchased some ash to bend and have gotten sidetracked by other work. Keep in mind you will need a steam bending set up also.
I just spent a week in San Diego, and saw a very nice pair in an antique store for $185. I'm not sure if you are going to tool up for one pair that you can beat that price.
I'm sure it would be a fun project to finish.
