    Joiners Mallet

I recently completed a little project I have been wanting to do for a long time. I finally got around to it. This was in a book given to me by my in-laws. The wood is air dried walnut from a local source, and the other wood (QSWO) was reclaimed by me when I was demoing a building. The finish is BLO and wax. I am certain this is my best work to date, and very happy with the outcome. I am also proud of the fact that there was a lot of hand work in this project, and for me I think it turned out alright. Comments and welcome. Thanks.

    Very nice, Matt.

You managed to use the contrasting woods in a way that looks very intentional, artistic and strong. Way to go.

Very nice. Now go and mess up the finish by banging some things with it.
