Three other charities I feel confident to give to are:

Salvation Army - always doing local stuff for the homeless that few other groups can do as well.

United Methodist Committee on Relief - with administration and other overhead taken care of with an annual offering, all gifts to a particular relief project go 100% to that project.

Heifer Project International - a gift that changes peoples lives and multiplies as people return the firstborn animals back to Heifer Project for another family.

While all the above are wonderful causes , there is just something about Habitat for Humanity that seems to fit so well for what we all love to do. I hope to take part in future projects when time/skill allow.

THANK YOU Jim for taking on this great cause!

You are right Jason. The people who participate in the building (Habitat for Humanity) really give something worthwhile and get so much from it personally.

I voted for St. Judes. I am partial to charities that specialize in helping children. I have a couple friends that have children that wouldn't be here today without them.

Voting for our hometown heroes - St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Plus, the founder is practically a namesake.

    Habitat is good, too.

I voted for St Judes Childrens Hospital, nothing is so sad as a child that is seriously ill. Nothing could be more honorable than helping these kids in any way possible.

Children are never turned away, no matter what the financial status of their parents. It would warm my heart to see this entire Community adopt St Judes Childrens Hospital and support them in any way we can.

    I give to Operation Smile

Other than my church, most of my charitable contributions go to "Operation Smile" They perform operations ,for very nominal amounts,on children with cleft lips/palates. If you go to their website, http://operationsmile.org , & look at the before & after pictures, you'll see what a difference it can make in a child's appearance &, I'm sure, their life.
