Thread: Festool/TrackSaw t-slot clamp dimensions?

    Festool/TrackSaw t-slot clamp dimensions?

    So, we just got our Delta 20-950 Drill Press (so far all I have to report is: it's big)

    Anyway, the t slots are an odd size .373" x .600" (less than 3/8" and less than 5/8" why? - not metric either) and Delta doesn't appear to have any accessories specifically designed for the machine/slot. I'm thinking the Festool or Dewalt TrackSaw quick clampls might be a handy solution for hold downs.

    Could anybody confirm that either of these clamps will fit in the t-slot.

    Also reviews/comparisons of the clamps in question or other suggestions would be appreciated.

    Kevin,

    I have the screw type festool clamps, as opposed to the quick release version shown in your picture. Here are the dimensions for the screw type Festool clamps as compared to the dimensions in your diagram.

    Diagram => Festool Clamp

    0.600" => 0.461"
    0.373" => 0.252"
    0.282" => 0.305"

    So, your good in 2 of the three dimensions. To use the Festool clamp you'll need to grind just a bit off the bottom of the clamp.

    The Festool clamp is likely a nogo.
    by my measurement, the thickness of the cross tee is 9/32 (.281)
    which is probably too tight a fit.
    The width of the cross tee is 29/64 (.454) , that matches up with the .600
    pretty loose. The long part of the tee is 1/4 on the Festool clamp, which would slide
    into the .373 slot OK.

    Hope this is helpful.
    Take Care.
