    Band Saw "Companion" from Sears

    Has anyone used a Companion 8 in. band saw from Sears?

    Jim;

    To answer your question - no.

    Just something to think about though. You will be VERY limited on the size stock you can work on with an 8" bandsaw. With an 8" opening you're going to have a lot of instances of the saw body getting in the way when you want to cut curved pieces.

    Another down side to small bandsaws is that they tend to be very hard on the blade welds due to the sharp bend as the blade wraps abound the tire.

    Just a couple things to weigh if you're trying to make a purchase decision.

    The real small bandsaws use very thin blades to help the weld go around small wheels.
