Hi Everyone,

Over the weekend, I made two videos on how to do the wiring for my Motorized Router Lift. If you were thinking of making one for yourself, this video series should help you along a bit. The electronics are pretty simple, so don't be intimidated.

John, I luv the motorized lift. I have a m12v in a benchdog table that I am thinking of converting. You mention that you change bits below the table. How to you accomplish that? I end up removing the entire thing and changing bits with everything above the table.

Hi Bob,

With the Motorized Router Lift, I can drop the router down in about 5 seconds. When the router is lowered all the way, I find that I have plenty of room to get in there and change the bit. Granted, I'm down on one knee, which may not be the best position...

My latest generation Motorized Router Lift (I haven't let out the details on this one yet), allows me to raise the router all the way up and change the bits from above. Changing bits from above is really nice!

Thanks for the videos, John. They are a huge help! I'm a big fan of your motorized router lift. God willing, I'll have one in my new router table that I'm building.

After seeing several of your videos that feature the various uses of the MRL, I'm convinced that it opens up a lot of new possibilities for the router table. I especially like the way that you are able to make accurate mortises with the MRL for loose tenon joinery.

Thanks for the nice reply Stephen. I do believe it changes the way you work on the router table, and opens the door to do operations that weren't possible (or not as safe) with a conventional setup.
