Walnut Kitchen Table finished and delivered.

OK...here it is. Delivered it to the customer tonight.
40" wide by 74" long and 30-1/4" from the floor to the top of the table top.
Black Walnut and Red Oak. Wood was cut, stickered and air dried for over 40 years in the customer's father's old barn.
The Red Oak had severe Ring Shake and also shown strong signs of being hit by lightening. There wasn't much of the Red Oak that I could use that wasn't coming apart when cut or planed.

    Finish is:
1-1/2 pound cut of Dark Garnet Shellac
5 coats of Semi-Gloss Deft Lacquer

    Great work, Dennis.

The figuring on the black walnut is amazing. I particularly like the legs, red oak sandwiched between the walnut. Nice finish too.

That table will have a lot of history for them I'm sure. 40 year old wood, man that's nice.

    Well Done!

Very nice looking table. I like hte way Deft looks on wood. I used to use it on nearly everything, but my local sources have quit carrying it. Where do you get yours?

Lee, I get my Deft Lacquer from the local Lowes BBS. The local Home Depot stopped carrying a lot of stuff I use, so I stopped going to HD. I really wanted some Sherwin-Williams Lacquer but I'd have to special order a full Case Quantity in order to get any at all. So...I stick with Deft.

Thanks for all the comments. I will have a full story behind the wood and the table before long. That part is still in the works. I'll also be getting a full picture of the table in it's new home in a few weeks.
    Thanks & Happy Wood Chips,
