WOW, really nice job! What kits are those and where did you get your cocobola. Nice finish. May I also ask what it is?

The pen kits are from steebar. They are number PK-1019. I use 2 stage HUT for the finish after sanding with 800 grit. I bought a piece of cocobolo from our local wood supply and cut to order.

to find steebar for pen kits and HUT : http://pensupplies.com/Pens/Classic.php

    steebar

    Roger,
Great pens. They look suspiciously like the Classic American rollerball that Woodcraft sells, which probably is the same as Berea's 2000 series flat tops.

Anyhoo, did they give you any kind of break on the price other that the standard bulk discount?

I've only dealt with Steebar once and it left a bad taste in my mouth, however, I hope it was only an isolated incident as I plan to order more stuff from them.

    Keep the chips flying.

    Blake,

Thanks, you are right. They are basically the same pen as the Classic American. Quite a bit cheaper at under $6. That also include a small rubber "O" ring which makes a RB/FP conversion better. I have dealt with Steebar for over a year and have had no problems.

Yes, I agree. I too love Cocobolo! It really looks nice when accented with Ebony. We are paying about $27 / BF for Cocobolo here in San Diego. Is it any less expensive anywhere else?

It's not that cheap in Tucson. Maybe I need a trip to SD.
