    Stanley 55 Box & Decal

I would like to replicate the chestnut box with sliding lid and decal for my stanley 55. I'm looking for box dimensions and a photo of the decal. It is a sweetheart era plane.

    measurements

I saw one on ebay the other day that listed the measurements. I saved them since I want to do the same. Here they are 12 x 9 x 6 inches

    cheers

    Stanley 55 Box & Decal

Thanks Pat - there is also an older style going soon on ebay that has the hinged lid but my plane isn't that early a model. When I google "stanley 55" there are very few images showing the boxes and the few that there are show the decal changed from time to time.

    Thanks Brad,

I been hanging over at the computer tech fourms as I just built a new computer

I took a break from computers for a few years and had to relearn everything thing..
Its not like woodworking which never changes much...

As soon as I get it finished with this build and new network set up here I'm spend more time here..

Johnny, thanks for the info - your pics show but another box decal with the plane included. I'm surprised at the variety of labels Stanley used. Trying to match the decal to the actual version of my plane will take more research.

    Phil,
My box is like the old finger jointed box...

The one I builting is like the bigger wider box with plane inside..

I just have the basic box finished with no hardware..

They also made Metal boxes in the other yellow box style which where for export to UK and places..
