    How do you keep the exchange equitable so that someone who trades a $100 pen doesn't get a $10 pen in return? Or does everyone trade the cheapest, or least liked, pen they have?

    Once the you are paired with someone it is up to that pair on what is traded and how the transaction happens. It is the responsibility of that pair to communicate with one another.
